Karl Rove Now Openly Mocking Palin…
Weasel Zippers ^ | February 28, 2011

Rove represents the worst of the elitist GOP establishment.

Via NY Mag

…One week before the 2010 midterm elections, Rove took aim at Sarah Palin, questioning the wisdom of her appearance on a reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, if she really wanted to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate. Palin lacked the “gravitas” to be president, went a subhead in the U.K.’s Daily Telegraph.

Rove later tried wriggling out of his comments, as well as observations he made in a German magazine that tea-partiers weren’t “sophisticated,” being unfamiliar, as Rove was, with intellectuals like the economist Friedrich August von Hayek. But Rove’s backhands weren’t accidental, nor was he the victim of outrageous tabloid reporting. When I bring up his statements about Palin during our interview, Rove says only that he wished he’d made his comments on Fox News instead—before going into a withering impersonation of Palin, recalling a scene from her TV show in which she’s fishing.

“Did you see that?” he says, adopting a high, sniveling Palin accent: “‘Holy crap! That fish hit my thigh! It hurts!’”

“How does that make us comfortable seeing her in the Oval Office?” he asks, disgusted. “You know—‘Holy crap, Putin said something ugly!’”

But Karl Rove disgraced himself by repeatedly attacking her AFTER she was nominated.

The way I remember it, he was a paid analyst on FOX. And what he said was true. I understand your point. I personally wanted to rail against that moron candidate O'Donnell here, but I steeled myself and did the "right" thing and left it alone until after election day. And even then I haven't brought it up much. But it doesn't bother me that Rove told the truth about her.

I couldn’t pick Mike Castle out of a police lineup. I’m not sure how having a Marxist DEM in that seat improves our situation, though.

“Wow. It’s one thing to hate the guy, but entirely another to ignore his achievements. “

His biggest achievement was to ironically create the Tea Party with his and Bush’s policies. HE IS THE REASON we have zero now.

What it shows is that the GOP voters in DE--especially the tea party voters--have poor judgement.

More likely it showed that the tea party voters in Delaware wanted a conservative candidate - and not a lib like Mike Castle - but no well known and well qualified candidate was available, so they voted for the best conservative choice they had.

>> He was a liberal, who probably could have won statewide.

... and the instant he’s elected he joins Snowe and Collins and Brown and the other Northeastern liberal (R)s who then become like little children who abuse their power in the caucus. They gum things up and they tip power BACK to the ‘rats... yet the solid (R)s can’t bitchslap them either, because they’re nominally of the same party. Feh.

Who was it that said “I’d rather have forty solid conservatives than fifty RINOs”, or something to that effect? Demint? I agree with him. Scrap the RINO pukes and rebuild around a solid core of ideological conservatives. Any other way is merely driving off the cliff with the emergency brake partially on, rather than reversing the direction of the runaway car.

“When Palin loses” is my issue with your statement. Firstly, I think she stands good chance of winning.

I don't even think she's going to win the nomination. If she does, she will lose the general by at least as much as she and McCain lost the last time.

Secondly, I just don't view Rove as significant enough anymore to blame him for anything. His time has come and gone.

I agree.

‘I’m not sure how having a Marxist DEM in that seat improves our situation, though.’

Ask Karl Rove, he is the one who actually supported the now Senator.

Bush vs Gore should have never been close with all those Clinton/Gore scandals. Bush should have won by 5 or 6 points.

So, in other words . . . when Bush won, he lost . . . because of Rove? If we mash together Bush's Fault® with Rove's Fault®, will we create a black hole that consumes our universe?

I notice when he trashed Odonnell he forgot to mention that he was part of Castle’s campaign and attempted to bribe a local tea party to support the union hack over the more conservative candidate.

Mike Castle really “distinguished” himself during the lame duck session.

And got a Marxist DEM. Brilliant. I can understand that they wanted something better than Castle. But an idiot with no chance of winning is hardly an improvement.

How dare he have the audacity to call the sitting senator from Delaware "unelectable." Oh, wait a minute . . . .

Lol, of course you missed the point. Rove damaged her chances with his hissy fit on Fox before she even had a chance to give her primary victory speech. Not exactly a team player, that Rove.

He was probably almost as bad as his DEM replacement.
