If someone signed up for FreeRepublic who was pro-abortion, loved the U.N. and gave money to Harry Reid in 2010 they would be banned before the second IBTZ. But you want a person with these same beliefs to be President?
He’s making some enemies, of course:
Donald Trump a Billionaire Racist

You are delusional at best. If you believe Trump can stabilize our economy considering his track record, I would have to say it’s time for you to put down the crack pipe and seek professional help!
I think we'd like to start by stopping this never ending cycle of snapping defeat from the jaws of victory. Palin was doing great, until she started falling under the influence of GOP paid handlers and consultants who are busy filling her ears with how to win the White House. Of course, their typical advice: Don't confront liberals, show that you're bipartisan, and it'd be best to lay low for a while until Obama's gotten his campaign underway.
All junk ideas, just like the stupid big tent philosophy that ensures that no one likes where the party's going.
Here's my take: Trump stinks on a lot of conservative bulletpoints. But presidents don't make laws; congress does. And I can't see any other candidate who'd be more likely to have a huge coattail for real conservatives to get elected into Congress. Obama might have a billion dollar warchest, but with Trump in the game, he'll need to waste tens of millions in solid blue states, not to mention battleground states.
Trump comes with a huge risk - he shoots from the hip, and can be brutally honest. He could easily stand before a massive group of Iowa farmers and tell them that ethanol is a horrendous government drain and a drain on the nation's harvest, and that not only should federal subsidies for it be ended, but also the requirements to use it to contaminate gasoline.
That said, Trump's a natural before the camera, can think on his feet, and has a very charismatic personality. He'd confront and explain his viewpoint when they start dragging out the dirt on him, and turn those attacks into very cheap advertising for his campaign.
So, yes, I'd vote for Trump. I'd prefer a conservative who'd step forward and actually push conservative ideals and confront the liberals, but I know that I'll not get that. If one emerged tomorrow, they'd also be poisoned by the same GOP machine that continues to make Palin a footnote, because, truthfully, the central committee would much rather Romney win the White House.
“Hes a NY liberal, hes supported Hillary and far too many Freepers have bought into his story for no other reason than hes a birther.”
Exactly Right! He has also given money to both Democrats and Republican in their campaigns.
Something to consider. That’s why I come here.
So you're saying you'll vote for Trump because he's not a conservative.
Ooookaaaayyy...
Only fools will refuse to buy congress critters, who go about with begging bowl in hand in every election cycle. Many good politicians have stopped running because they are tired of the begging bowl routine.
Trump owes nothing to no body. He does not owe McCain, he is good in debates with MSM, Never has deer in the headlight look on his face when asked about any doctrine, and best of all he is not a mild mannered country club republican. I can vote for this dude.
Only stupid business people do not buy all available politicians. I guess you have never ran a business.
Governor Palin is a wonderful conservative. I am not convinced she is electable. May be polls will change. And that could change my vote.
Rudy McRomney - None are conservatives, in any sense of the word. All kowtow to liberal ideals and 'bipartisanship' which means doing what the liberals want. So, yes, I've already voted for a non-conservative in the previous presidential election, good old John McCain.
What are you talking about? Where are her positions on these issues?
Then America is truly ill.
Personally, I don’t give a flying F about polls. I will vote my conscience.
Do your own homework. I know what her positions are and I’ve also researched Trump’s positions and he is NOT a conservative and never has been.
“I know nothing about what he really believes.”
I know that when it comes to foreign policy, his stated doctrine would be America’s interests come first.
We’re living in dangerous times, but hopefully it’s not too late for such a leader to reclaim our place in the world and prevent our enslavement as a Muslim, third-world country.
As far as his statements that he’s pro-life, anti-gun control and gay marriage, he’s said these things several times publicly already, so I take him at his word.
But what we must have first is someone who can decisively BEAT BHO, debating him (and the MSM) without flinching or getting flustered, because it will be brutal. And then, we need a president who’ll work on restoring our economy, knows how to deal with our enemies by the various means necessary, and will do so - without worrying about politics or political correctness. Trump meets these requirements.
The only other hopeful I know who would probably be as good in these areas is Herman Cain, but I’m a realist. BHO has poisoned the well for some time to come, for another black candidate (I fear).
As far as the throngs of sheeple who were dazzled by BHO’s glitz and rock star persona in ‘08, I think Trump could match him on that one, too.
