One does NOT need an anchor baby to become US citizen. I entered the US on a student visa. My employer (a large corporation) sponsored me for immigrant visa based on my unusually good skills. After that I had to wait 5 years to apply for a US citizenship which was granted based on 2 US citizens vouch for my character and I had an interview with immigration to test my knowledge of English and the US Constitution. That was many moons ago.

I should add that I did not even become a father until long after becoming a citizen. At the time my child was born, both her parents were US citizens, me being naturalized and mother born & raised in US citizen. So I am assuming my daughter who is studying for a law degree would be eligible to run.
