Palin confident she could beat Obama
CBS News ^ | May 31, 2011 | Bonney Kapp

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was met by a gaggle of reporters outside of Philadelphia's Independence Hall Tuesday, on day three of her "One Nation" bus tour.

The question du jour: Will she or won't she run for president?

The would-be-candidate once again refused to "put a timetable" on when she will announce her decision, but when asked by CBS affiliate WKYW if she could beat President Obama, Palin replied, "To put it concisely - yes."

Palin also noted her belief that most of the Republicans in the field "have a very good chance" of beating the president, and specifically said she liked Texas Governor Rick Perry, who told reporters last week he was contemplating his own bid to unseat Obama.

"This isn't all about me; it's about the real change that our country needs, and not just me but other potential candidates and candidates declared," she said.

Reporters who have been following the bus tour have been given little guidance by Palin's team, and have accused Palin of being coy with the press....

I never met a winner with a loser attitude. You cannot win unless you BELIEVE that you will win. No fear... no doubt... just go out there and win it... it is yours for the taking. Without that... you are politically just another Dole or mccain... just another loser. The only luck one has is the luck that one makes.

Palin would beat Obama like Reagan beat Carter.

You have a lot more confidence in the American electorate than do I.

I see no indication that they’ll vote for a conservative like Palin, especially given that they voted for Barack Hussein Obama a mere 2.5 years ago.

Yes, I am basically saying that America is doomed.

Governor Palin knows politics, Donald doesn’t.

I have been busting a gut over this all afternoon.

Let's see: Irrelevant, stupid, dumb, quitter, polarizing, weak, favorability ratings hovering around - say... negative 40 percent and dropping fast, fading in the national spotlight, brand wearing off, controversial, responsible for Congress women getting shot, and NO CHANCE of beating the current IDIOT who's laying siege to the U.S. Constitution. ...and she has once again - hijacked the entire news cycle; She is in fact controlling that same media that hates her guts right now, and she is sucking ALL the air out of the room of the GOP without even making annoucement- just as I predicted.

Since I’m not a Palin staffer, I haven’t a clue. Why not e-mail or call her?

"To put it concisely - yes."

And they say this woman isn't smart. Is there any candidate, anywhere, who can say it better than Sarah can?

And without a teleprompter.

She’s more qualified than Obama

Most definitely.

But she would lose and we would have 4 more years of this national disaster.

Why do you say that? She would unite the right more than any other candidate and that counts for a lot. Palin could bring together Republicans, movement conservatives, Tea Party folks and those disillusioned with the status quo. She is charismatic and could run on a common sense platform. People will have had 4 years of the supposed "intellectual elite" in charge, I think they will take to Palin and her message.

Not saying it will be easy, but I just don't quite get all the "Palin can't win" stuff. Who better than her? High negatives your concern? Even Hillary had them leading in to her primary run and overcame them easily. Yes, she lost, but just barely and in a year much of the left turned on the Clinton(s) in order to get a far more radical liberal elected.

Who out there besides Palin that can not only rally almost all segments of the right, but could fire them up? It's going to take more than a "oh well, he/she is better than Obama" to generate the necessary intensity to actually show up at rallies, phone bank, donate, etc. Seems to me Palin is the natural candidate to take on Hussein and I've yet to see any compelling arguments for why she wouldn't have a good shot at winning.

I love the ‘SP can’t win’ types.

To add to your comment...
They cannot seem to grasp that after months/years of the ‘msmlibs’ abuse (funny how much like ‘muslim’ that looks when you type it isn’t it?) Palin takes 1 bus trip and garners the 24/7 coverage across ALL media outlets. Imagine if she actually announced?

But no... no one will vote for her.

How much lame-stream media Kool Aide did you drink this morning then?
No one can be a more effective candidate against 0bama than Sarah Palin. She'd make mincemeat out of the Kenyan. Why else do you think the lame-stream media is in a total panic at the prospect of her running? And why else are trolls like you usually the first to post (your normal garbage) on every Sarah Palin thread?
