Analyst: Palin In Ariz. For More Than Kyl's Seat

PHOENIX -- One of the Valley's leading political analysts said he believes Republican Sarah Palin is setting up a national base in Arizona, but is not planning to run for Jon Kyl’s vacating U.S. Senate seat.

Jaime Molera, founding partner of the Molera Alvarez Group, who has held a variety of high-level state positions, said he thinks Palin’s plans are bigger than just running for the U.S. Senate.

“I think she’s thinking about running for the presidency,” Molera said. “At the end of the day, being one of 100 senators versus being the leading contender for U.S. President; I think that’s what she’s going to go after.”

Some national analysts are speculating Palin’s weekend bus tour was the first stop in her race for the White House. Palin began a bus tour of the eastern United States in the nation's capital over Memorial Day weekend.

“Arizona gives her a good base if she decides that because it’s a growing state. The GOP primaries of the West are important and I think this gives her a good platform to run on,” said Molera.

“It would help her identify herself with what she wants to do to against the contenders in the GOP primary for president,” Molera said.

Palin bought a roughly 8,000-square-foot home in North Scottsdale for $1.695 million last week.

“She doesn’t have to travel all the way up to Alaska where there are hardly any electoral votes. Arizona is going to have 11 or 12 electoral votes, and because it’s a growing state and has one of the early primaries, it gives her a good base to talk about not just Arizona issues, but Western issues and things that might resonate with the GOP voters,” said Molera.

If Palin does run for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Kyl, Arizona U.S. Rep. Jeff Flake will be the one to beat. Flake has already received the endorsements from the Republican base in Arizona.

“I don’t see her running against him,” said Molera. “She’s not met with anyone in the state to discuss that.”

LOL.

Of course she’s not running for Kyl’s seat.

Her HOME is in WASILLA, ALASKA!

I just scrolled from the top of the forum page to the bottom, and there are currently 11 different stories about Palin, and one duplicate story. FR has become the Church of Palin; it’s totally obsessive now.

I have one quick question...why do you think she’s setting up her residence in AZ if she’s not considering a run to represent that state?

She could run for the presidency from her HOME in WASILLA, ALASKA.

If I buy a second home/vacation house in another state but still live here, which state is my residence in? And how do you run for the White House from Alaska? Look on a map sometime and see just how far it is from the continental United States, especially New Hampshire, Iowa and South Carolina.

Hi!!!

I think it’s too costly to run a presidential campaign from Alaska and the travel time would be a real hurdle to overcome. When Bristol bought her house in the Phoenix area, I guessed that Sarah and Todd would buy one, too. Sarah wants Trig near her and AZ makes sense. Nice winter weather and her folks are retired. {Live-in babysitters]. The home is spacious and deluxe.

ccmay told me their home is near the Scottsdale airport for the private planes. Sounds perfect.

There are also loads of stories about

* Obama
* The destruction of the dollar

This is because Free Republic tends to focus on what is important and relevant.

Just because your guy Romney is irrelevant - apparently even less relevant than Weiner’s erection fraud which I note is getting some play on FR - that doesn’t mean that FR has become some fanatic shrine to Palin. FR is simply following and supporting the best hope of the American Republic.

FR has become the Church of Palin; it’s totally obsessive now.

But you're the only one that is obsessed enough to count them and then to post about it. HHHHMMMMMM?????

Don't like Sarah stories, skip them, jerk-wagon.

Good news, too! I was getting sick about reading about that disgusting socialist scumbag Romney.

Sarah Palin certainly strikes terror into the dark hearts of America's Decadent Leftists! They're obsessed with her.

Nothing seems to horrify them more than Sarah Palin--except Truth! And it's the same thing!

Truth horrifies Leftists like a crucifix horrifies a vampire.

Nah! If it were, most FReepers would have seen my tagline - which dates back to January, 2010 - and adopted it themselves.

The first step is admitting the problem, just trying to help you with that. Thanks for the gratuitous insult.
