Nail to the GOP Front Door

Over the past few weeks, Republican candidates offering themselves as warriors in the crusade against Obama have sprung up as wildflowers in the field: each colorful, each beautiful in its own way. But these are not happy warriors. Each seems to send a sad message. It is the now-familiar tale of woe: our once-great republic reduced to a poverty-ridden husk of its former self, led to destruction by the Obama Administration. I suppose this recitation of the unworthiness of Obama is supposed to affirm a candidate’s “conservative” bona fides. IMHO, it is just a blinding glimpse of the obvious and frankly, a little bit unsulting to our intelligence.

Hear ye, Republican seekers of my vote in the Republican Primaries and the election of 2012, I already know that Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., if that is indeed is his rightful name, is one no-good, rotten Marxist-or-worse SOB figurehead, who perhaps by design seeks to bring down our nation and rebuild it as a socialist state. (Why not just say that on the campaign trail? Draw some fire. Give me a sign of life!)

Since I already know from painful economic experience how bad things are, what I really need to know now is what are The Program and The Plans that you offer to set our country back on the right course? I hope you do not intend to arrive in Washington like the Boehner Babies, who have neither a discernible plan, nor program, nor leaders, nor clue. They have badly short-changed those who elected them. Ladies and gentlemen , I need specifics from you. Since thus far none of you sees fit to address any issues, allow me to provide you with some food for thought:

The Budget: From to 2012 to 2016, the Federal budget must be cut 20% from the Federal Budget of 2004. This can be best approached by closing down unconstitutional federal departments whose activities are counterproductive: Education, The EPA, Homeland Security, Housing, etc. The number of Federal Employees must be down-sized and their pay and benefits reduced to match private sector wages and benefits. Unspent Stimulus Funds must be restored to the Treasury.

Taxes: Preparatory to the installation of a flat tax system, all rates must at least be held to the rates of the Reagan Era’s lowest taxes. The capital gains tax ought to be abolished entirely. Estate taxes which require liquidation of business enterprises must also be abolished.

Immigration: Our border with Mexico must be closed and regulated according to the laws already on the books. If stemming the illegal tide of immigrants from or through Mexico requires militarizing the border, so be it. A 5-year moratorium on all immigration might not be a bad idea, as would the repeal of the Kennedy Immigration Bill of 1965, which was a bad idea. Sorry, but if my immigrant ancestors had wanted to live in a country dominated by Hispanic culture and mores, they would have gone to one.
Try out of the box thinking. Register illegal alien males for the draft. Offer them the choice of military service for 5 years or deportation. Get tougher than I, should you feel the need. Stop being so goddam nice about the latinization of my country.
BTW, Muslims are a problem. Keep them the hell out! Speak the hell up! Stop worrying about how the MSM is going to pillory you. They will pillory you, end of story. Punch back. Stop trying to be Politically Correct.

You cannot be Politically Correct and do the job that has to be done. Attacking the MSM is just as good as attacking Obama. They are one and the same.
PS: You will never get a majority of the “Black” vote, the “Latino” vote, the “Jewish” vote. The “Gay and Lesbian” vote, or anywhere near it. Do not, I beg you, fear to offend those whom we have somehow already offended years ago by freeing them from slavery, welcoming them to live in the United States, defending Israel, and even by turning a blind eye to monstrous perversions.

More than half the natural American Republican constituency is NOT VOTING. Turn out the vote you can get and take strong steps against vote fraud. FORGET PANDERING TO THE REST.

Defense: Declare war in Libya, or get out. Draw down troops in Europe, and South Korea. Delay F-35 procurement. Revise ROE to protect Americans. We need a bigger force to prevent the 4-5-6-time deployments that are gutting our professionals. Get more people in and trained.

Energy: Absolutely maximize the production of American crude oil. Immediately end the production of boutique fuels. Incentivize refinery construction. Incentivize the use of small, turbo-charged diesel engines in the American private automobile. It is being done all over the world with the result of 50mpg family cars. (Were American automobiles now so powered, there would be very little need for imported oil.) Use retired military bases as the locations for regional Nuclear Power plants. In the period from 2012 to 2016, Nuclear Power can be raised to produce 30% of the nation’s needs, with an eventual goal of 80%, as it is in France. In regard to OPEC, our defense of Saudi Arabia can be offset by their selling oil to us at one-half the OPEC rate of 1990. Iraqi oil should be ours until the funds invested in our operations there are offset.

INCONVENIENT ENVIRONMENT AND ENERGY FACTS:
There is no shortage of crude oil. There is a glut of crude oil. There are not enough refineries. EPA Regulations, combined with the oilcos who use them as an excuse, keep fuel supplies short by limiting production capacity. A tough President could cut the cost of gasoline in HALF in his first week in office. Oil will be the major energy source for the next century … deal with it… even while planning the next sources, which are not even near yet in economic feasibility.

There is no such thing as Anthropogenic Global Warming. (Have someone on your staff who did not major in English, Political Science, or Elementary Ed look up the Milankovitch Cycle.) Does Al Gore plan on suing Chile for Carbon Footprint violations, or Iceland or the State of Washington? Yes “pollution” is very bad. No, it has nothing to do with climate change. No, the EPA has no constitutional authority to regulate economic life.

States’ Rights: The 17th Amendment ought to be repealed to allow a return to the election of Senators by the legislatures of the individual states. All powers of the 10th Amendment need to be re-iterated and returned to the states. It is the states that must clean up their voter rolls and end vote fraud. It is the states that must monitor candidate eligibility for national office. Excessive Federalism is the major failing of our way of government. The pendulum must be swung back.

Health Care: Obama care must be categorically ended in all its forms. Private insurance premiums must remain untaxed.

Social Security: The system must be partially privatized to allow for greater return on investment. If the Republic of Chile can do this with great success, why can’t we?

Lady and Gentleman Candidates, pick, choose, add to, discuss some or all of the above points. If you disagree with my take on the issues, great. Just say so and tell us what YOU have in mind to do. But for God’s sake, let’s end the personality contests and get back to the issues. What do YOU think? Tell me what your Program and Plan is, and stop trying to be all things to all focus groups. Try using social media to tell the nation what YOU think must be done. The GOP left the last election on the couch. By avoiding the issues, you are, IMHO, setting the stage for an embarrassing 2008 repeat by not offering a clear choice.

We need the White House, the House, The Senate, and the States in much more conservative and constitutional hands in 2012. Republics and Democracies end. A GOP failure to win in 2012 and then to deliver quickly on that win will bring the death of this particular republic one hell of a lot closer. My friends, start swinging now. You’re not fighting an election. You are literally fighting for the future life of this country.

Attack Obama hard. But every time you do, tell me specifically what you are going to do differently. You are coming from a place of fear. Get it together and LEAD from the strength of honestly stated views. The namby-pamby platitudinous approaches I have seen so far, combined with the votes of the stupid and the un-votes of those whom you discourage and confuse will leave this country very vulnerable to the Return of the Mombasa MF.

I have a busy day ahead, but I also want to write one detailed response. So you get my "Comment of the day" today. Who knows, maybe tomorrow I'll develop this into a full post/thread of its own.

If you believe that the overall structure we have today, with the two parties and the current overall level of government, regulation and taxation could work well, but you think Republicans run things better than Democrats, your plan could work. What will be required will be for you to get very actively involved in the Republican party. Let me explain a bit more what you need to believe if your plan is to work:

If you believe that the United States Government, and those in power in Washington DC should be picking winners and losers, but you believe that Republicans are better at picking "the correct" winners and losers, your plan is great.
If you believe that government programs, and especially Federal government programs will solve all our problems, but you believe that Republicans know better how to create manage the programs to solve all our problems than Democrats, your plan is great.
If you believe that government spending, especially Federal government spending, is around the right level (+/- say ten percent), but you believe that Republicans are better to manage the level of spending and pick the right spending priorities, your plan is great.
If you believe that the government, especially the Federal government, should take your money and spend it "the right way" for you, instead of letting you spend it as you wish, but you think Republicans are better at figuring out "the right way" to spend your money than Democrats, your plan is great.

The Republican party today has as its primary goal, getting more Republicans elected to acquire more power and prestige for Republicans. They might pay lip service to "smaller government" and "lower taxes" and other things that sound kind of good. At the state and local level, they might even pass "10th amendment resolutions" and do things that look like they want to trim back some on government, but in the end, it's all about more Republicans wielding more power. It really sounds like your plan could call for more of that. If so, you should work within the existing party structure.

I don't believe that's the solution. In my opinion, the solution is stronger local and state governments first, and a strong commitment to the Constitution of the United States. It is especially important that everyone at all levels, from the individual voters, up through city councils, mayors, county commissions, governors and state reps, all the way up to the US Congress and the president, all must understand the limits that Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution places on the Congress and the entire United States government. Ultimately, the 10th Amendment is where , along with our States (the legislatures and governments of our states) told the Federal government, “What you see in the Constitution, that's it. You can't do more than that, we are responsible for the rest.”

Our problem today is that we've forgotten that. With freedom comes responsibility. Too many people in this country are willing to take the security of slavery over the challenges of freedom.

But back to the political realities of today. The first reality is that less than 5% of the voting public choose our elected officials. I know that's much lower than General Election turnouts, but the General elections are just where we chose between the two parties. The Primaries usually have much lower turnouts, and that's where candidates are selected. That's where the action is.

If you really want to return to Constitutionally limited government, you'll find that Republicans generally aren't interested in that. This is especially true with the "Republican Leadership." The Constitution is an impediment to them achieving their primary objective, which is more power for Republicans.

You have to reach out to the grass roots, and make the small gains at the local level.

A better strategy than nailing a copy of your "Manifesto" to every Republican party county office would be, contact every voter in your precinct. Personally hand them a copy of the United States Constitution and ask them to read it. Maybe form up a local "Constitutional study group." You can get a list of all registered voters in your precinct from your county election supervisor. That information is public record. Usually, the database you get also tells party registration, and whether or not they voted in the last primary. Be aware that the primary voters are hard core partisans. They are more likely to be in line with the "leadership" of their party and will care less about actually limiting government to the Constitution and taking local (sometimes even personal) responsibility for things that shouldn't be done by the Federal government.

Then, as a local group (call it a TEA Party, a 9-12 group, a county constitutional protection convention, or whatever you might wish), start vetting candidates and finding people who will actually follow the Constitution. If you can get enough "regular people" out for the primaries, you'll overwhelm the "party leadership" and their 5% that vote in the primaries, and you can get a candidate who 1) is not a career politician, and 2) cares more about the Constitution than they do about party power and personal power.

If you read my example above, with the park renovation, you'll see that even the City Council has to pay attention to and respect the United States Constitution. It's easier to take payoffs in the form of "grant money," but that is what has destroyed our country.

That's my strategy, and the strategy of some of our local TEA Party and 9-12 groups down here in Florida. I personally have made it my goal that within the next 9 months, I will personally introduce myself to and hand a copy of the constitution to every voter in my precinct. Since I'm in Florida, and Florida actually has an oath to support the United States constitution on the application for voter registration, I will also point out that if they are a registered voter, they have already sworn to uphold and protect that document, and they should understand it and protect the ideals of our nation's founding. We are also always searching for candidates, for every position from President down to "Mosquito control officer." When primary time rolls around, we'll revisit everyone with some information about which candidates are committed to freedom and the United States Constitution, and ask for support for those candidates in the primaries. That way, there will be a choice in the General election who really does respect the Consitution of the United States. Even better if we can find on in each party to guaranty we have someone who will respect and follow the Constitution of the United States (as originallly intended by the founders).

Barack Obama, the Democratic Party, Unions and the MSM are going to do everything they can to make the word "conservatism" scare nervous voters away from the GOP; the Left is already saying our candidates are nuts, mean-spirited, racists, rich, selfish people; that Republicans across the country are blocking tax increases and demanding cuts in entitlements and services and hurting the economy on purpose to make Obama look bad. AND THEY ARE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE -- GIVING SAME TALKING POINTS. They have not dropped the ridiculous charge--drumbeat--that the Tea Party is extreme and hateful and racist.

So, what do we do to counter this 24/7 attack on good Americans who love their country and want what is best for everyone?

Rick Perry has been giving a talk on the 10th Amendment, explaining how when Federal controls are loosened on states, those state economies take off as businesses gear up, that jobs will come and the teachers will be paid and the roads will be built, etc.

Rick Perry's common sense 10th Amendment - the power back to the states solution to take our country back - state by state: "Don't spend all the money! -- Have a fair and predictable tax and regulatory policy! -- Have a legal system that does not allow for over suing and makes [lawsuit] loser pay!"

I think this is a perfect appeal to the country -- to an electorate who does not follow this as closely as we do. Of course Perry's ideas are broader than this but that is the essence (and an essence is like a sound-bite).

As Rick Perry says (in the link) "Texas has led but it’s been a hell of a struggle against Washington D.C. – Government must trust the people but this administration does not trust the people."
