Rachel Maddow investigative news hound

Rachel Maddow broke some big news on her MSNBC show Sept. 28 – and she wants you to know.

She mentioned several times during the program that she was reporting "important real news," "important political news," and so on.

Here's my quick rewrite of this earth-shattering development: Two people best known for working on John McCain's failed presidential campaign in 2008 say selecting Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential running mate was "a mistake."

Here's the problem with this being big news:

Both Steve Schmidt, McCain's campaign manager, and Nicole Wallace, a top aide to the campaign, were actually involved in the vetting process for Palin and have used every opportunity at their disposal to trash Palin.

It's not an exaggeration to say that trashing Palin – and everything she stands for – has become their livelihood.

Schmidt had an undistinguished record of running mostly losing campaigns when he took the helm of the McCain debacle. Google his name and you will find he is now a professional Palin-basher. Likewise, Wallace is pimping a new novel about a female presidential candidate she boasts is modeled after Palin. The candidate is, of course, certifiably crazy – and wasn't properly vetted. (Perhaps losers like Wallace and Schmidt were in charge of that vetting operation, too.)

For her part, Wallace advises Palin that if she runs for president in 2012 she should resist her most partisan political instincts. This coming from a woman whose own artful and delicate oratory skills have her labeling Palin as "seriously mentally ill" and "cuckoo for Co-Co Puffs."

That interviews like this would actually be considered "serious news" even by someone like Rachel Maddow pretending to be a news anchor is laughable. But there's even more to the back story here.....

They don't want a conservative nominee, of that you can be sure.

Schmidt and Nicole Wallace can go to hell and worse, but I can’t post what’s worse.

I think it’s terrible to expose all three of Maddow’s viewers to such lies.

Journalism today:

1) Literally looking under rocks in Texas.
2) Throwing mud at people who are not running for president.

Well, since Obama is SO popular, and SO successful, and SO scandal-free ... I guess the journalists have to dig up something to report on ...

The less outspoken left doesn’t want a conservative nominee. People like Maddow need something to complain about because being in the position of trying to defend her own politics is not her comfort zone. Lately, prudent lefties stick to demonizing prominent conservatives and standing up for meaningless platitudes (”teachers should be paid more than congressmen”, blah). If their marxism starts showing, they lose people.

She sure has and she is still just a private citizen like you and me. All they have to do is mention her name and they get more viewers.

Rachel Maddow – investigative news hound

Just cause she's a bitch, and a dog, doesn't necessarily make her a "hound".

Got him 60 million votes, didn't she? Without her, he faced the ignominy of the first Presidential shutout in history (and I don't mean state by state).

“Two people best known for working on John McCain's failed presidential campaign in 2008 say selecting Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential running mate was “a mistake.””

During the 2008 presidential campaign and ever since members of McCain's team have continually told lie after lie about Sarah Palin. They have attacked her in the most cowardly and despicable ways imaginable. There have been anonymous leaks to the MSM and story after story about how Sarah was stupid, dishonest, insane, etc.

Throughout this ordeal NOBODY has called these people out and challenged them. McCain used Sarah in the most cynical way possible to ensure his victory in the 2010 Arizona primary. He has not once defended Sarah against these attackers or called them out. Almost all the attacks on Sarah can be sourced to members of the McCain campaign team and a small group of Alaska bloggers linked to the Democrat Party.

When McGinniss’s book came out even the New York Times had to admit it was full of unsourced accusations and smears. Why didn't McCain and other members of the Republican establishment defend Sarah and call out McGinniss and his book?

When conservatives are unfairly attacked the Republican establishment types like McCain, Romney, etc don't lift a finger to defend them or to set the record straight.

Yet these same people run to conservatives and ask for our votes.
