Palin to run as independent? 'Not out of the realm of possibility'
WorldNetDaily ^ | October 9, 2011 | Drew Zahn

A fellow tea-party candidate and Alaskan politician who drew Sarah Palin's endorsement in 2010 says it's not "out of the realm of possibility" that the former governor might still run for president in 2012 … as an independent.

Former Republican U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller evaluated the chances Palin might run in a conversation with Aaron Klein during the host's "Aaron Klein Investigative Radio" program on New York City's WABC Radio.

When asked if Palin, who announced she would not seek the Republican nomination for president, might consider running as an independent, Miller replied, "You know, I think it's unlikely. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility, but certainly if you ask her today, I think she would affirm that there's no way she would do that.

"In fact, she made it very clear in her statement that she is going to focus not only on making sure the Republican nominee wins in 2012, but also to assist in making sure that the Senate is retaken," he continued. "So at least taking her opinion today, she would tell you no."

Miller, however, refused to slam the door on the idea: "But I know Sarah, and the reality is she's a fighter. If she sees the country in desperate need of leadership not being provided by either of the two parties, who knows? Maybe she would jump into it."

Man oh man.

Never in my entire life, has a political candidate both so inspired, and outraged me almost simultaneously.

Gosh darn it. Buck it up Palin, and get with the program.

You have a base out here, which any other politician would ENVY.

So stop whining, and get back in the game!

Oh, I think she wanted it this time. She simply reined in her pride and listened to that still small voice. A testimony to who she is.

OK “outraged” was too strong a word.

Flabbergasted then.

Disappointed. Let down. Frustrated. You get the point. :)

Buck it up Palin. Stop all this nonsense.

The time is now.

Me no thinks Sarah will run independent. She means what she says, she's NOT running for President.

This means she can support the candidate of HER choice and a RINO backstab will have no effect on her. She has confiscated the RINO weapon of choice and still retains her most formidable weapon, her endorsement.

Sarah is about to clean up the Republican party and put out the trash.

This could be about fixing or destroying the GOP precisely so we won't have third party vote splitting in the future.

Fix or destroy, either way, a conservative party comes to a two party system.

Sheesh.

I think she will run in 2016, just a hunch and we will have to wait and see but I hope that she does run for President. I will always root for her, she is a special lady and I only wish the best for her. She will make a great President when she chooses to run

I thought she said she wouldn’t do this, because it would hand the election to Obama.

She said to Levin that 3rd party would ensure an Obama victory. This is silly talk.

Never in my entire life, has a political candidate both so inspired, and outraged me almost simultaneously.

That's a very thoughtful statement.

Palin at one point had the power to single-handedly turn this country around. She chose not to do so. Sure, the MSM made things very difficult for her. But ultimately it was Palin herself who let her power slip away.

Why is WND running this type of hysterical nonsense? It’s pointless, worthless hyperbole that helps no one and is insulting to Sarah Palin. She’s made up her mind, she’s made a public statement, she says she has other avenues to explore in helping the country.

Sheesh! Some people just can’t give up the Palin industry.

She said she isn’t running. I, rather unhappily but with sympathy, take her at her word.

Since you quoted me, I’d like to note I downgraded my adjective to “flabbergasted”.

She is out. Why would she run as an independent if she isn’t willing to run as a Republican? She’s made her choice clear.

Her power did slip away somewhat, but it’s only partially her fault. Far too many folks in this country have the attention span of a chicken on meth..........

Not only that, nobody is going to get ballot qualified in enough states as an Independent Candidate (sans party) to ensure an Electoral Vote majority victory, by starting as late as October 2011 especially while the GOP is so much in play with a Conservative now as a front runner. What planet is this, seriously. This is mathematically impossible. She really ought to knock off the teasing, all things being equal-and she being a superb person and leader. Where she could be of immense help would be a) her PAC to ensure GOP victory in the SENATE and HOUSE, and b) an early endorsement of one of the solid conservatives before Iowa rolls around--which is pretty darned soon--to block the RINOs in the race.
