The EXACT same thing going on in Delaware in 2010 is occurring now in Republican Primaries 2012.
This woman was completely un-vetted by the Delaware Tea Party and had MAJOR issues from her past. But because she was perceived as not being as bad as RINO Mike Casstle and because she was attacked by the hated Rove, the Tea Party rallied behind her. Real smart move on their part /s. I guess that was a lot easier than spending the time, resources, and money to find an actual vetted, principled, conservative candidate to go up against RINO Castle.
Now she endorses Romney and everyone here wants to pretend they didn’t associate with her. Nice try.
WAKE UP! This story is playing out again.
We’re trying to beat RINO Romney with Newt Gingrich, despite everything we know about his record. Go ahead and turn a blind eye to Gingrich’s problems and pretend that you know all of the issues you’ll have with him. When Newt screws you over, just like O’Donnell did here, don’t try to say you weren’t warned. Keep furiously trying to polish that turd. After all, it’s a lot easier to support the Anti-Romney who’s already out in front, rather than actually putting in the work to get the principled, vetted, true conservtaive to the top of the pack.
Those who refuse to learn from history’s past are doomed to repeat it.
Conservative have 21 days to get this stuff figured out. If Bachmann, Santorum, or Perry isn’t the nominee, conservatives will have only themselves to blame when the size of government continues to grow and further liberties are lost.

I was just getting ready to make that point when I saw your post.
This IS her second "endorsement" of Romney. She must not have gotten enough publicity the first time she did it a month or so ago.
She strikes me as just another has-been opportunist saying, "Look at me! Look at me!" Actually, I'm embarrassed for her, and her apparent desperation to become relevant again.
Glad I sent no money there. She always seemed a bit off to me.

There aren’t many Romney supporters here in Sussex County. And, Christine, most of your support came from Sussex County. So, I’d say you’re toast for any future aspirations.

Well, to be honest, I was one of those who was pulling for her during the mid-term elections. I figured that all of the crap talk about her was just that - slimeball liberal attacks. I never believed any of it.
On the other hand, I had no way of knowing that her judgment was this bad. Romney? Gads....
I agree with you’re entire analysis 99%. One thing I think you are wrong about:

You need to take Perry out of that mix, he is no Conservative. I actually like Newt over him. Perry runs a big government in Texas, high deficits and stomps on liberties.
I do agree Bachmann at this point is the most Conservative in the race. I like Santorum, but I am bugged by him because he was part of the big government, country club Republican establishment of late 90’s and 2000’s and gave Bush all that spending he wanted.
At this point, barring another major shake up, I think Newt is the nominee, which is a million times better than Romeny, but not the best we can do either. He is surging because he has excelled in the debates and make some excellent points and has come up with some good ideas.
The only thing is, can you trust him to carry through? He is still a politician after all.
