Newt Gingrich Considers Sarah Palin as Vice President
Opposing Views ^ | December 30, 2011 | Michael Allen

This week at a tele-town hall hosted by Ralph Reed’s Faith and Freedom Coalition, a caller asked Newt Gingrich if he would consider choosing former half-term Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Gingrich responded by saying that Palin “is certainly one of the people you would look at” and told the caller that he is “a great admirer of hers.”

"She is certainly one of the people you would look at. I am a great admirer of hers and she was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska, she’s somebody who I think brings a great deal to the possibility of helping in government and that would be one of the possibilities."

"There are also some very important Cabinet positions that she could fill very, very well. I can’t imagine anybody who would do a better job of driving us to an energy solution than Gov. Palin, for example. Tell her that she would certainly be on the list of one of the people we would consider."

Not ever Palin could get me to vote for this ticket. Was fooled in 2008. Never again.

Nuclear energy is their regulatory sphere. They wouldn’t have anything to do with opening up ANWR.

I predicted she will be Newt’s Sec of Energy.

That would be my take also. America would be independent of foreign oil and gas in just a year.

Didn’t say they did!
All I was saying that DOE does sponsor and involve itself with energy technology other then nuclear energy.

Why do you think Newt Gingrich is the touch of death?

Shrewd.

On the eve of Iowa - with all the “draft Palin” media efforts cresting - referencing her in this way could bring him some last minute support. Kind of a PR hijack, and probably not the effect Palin supporters had hoped for.

I was responding to a guy that said if Palin was Energy Secretary she could open up ANWR. Given her experience with non-nuclear energy, drilling rights and so forth, Interior would be her most effective post, but only if it trims the fat.

Yup, you shore did.

Sarah did a lot of talking in 2008 — that’s why she became so popular.

She could at least have suggested in her many speeches she gave that Bambi be vetted. I did not say that she should have demanded it — that should have been up to the RINO McCain.

She is given much credit for being smart and perhaps rightfully so, but smart people who run in a race should demand to know who their opponent/s is/are.

See my post at #5 from yesterday.

Has Sarah decided it's between Newt & Mitt? ..seems so.

GOP Ballot Tracking, Among Republican Registered Voters (Romney 26, Gingrich 24, Paul 11.)

I always thought she would support Perry, but Perry hasn't step up.

Sarah stayed out of this election for a reason.

Because she's scared.

Even the squishiest and lamest of the actual candidates have more cojones than she.

As demonstrated by their willingness to actually run.

The Sarah Palin bashers are really a disgusting lot. Especially here on FR. Of course, I knew and predicted that if she opted not to run that many of those who once lauded her would curse her. FR just provides ample evidence that I was right. Disgusting.

Yes, it can be very troubling when other folks don’t share your opinion.
