A funny thing is happening to Mitt Romney on his way to Florida: ¡He is becoming so aware of Latino voters, that hes practically becoming Latino himself!
Oh, wait, amigos -- ¡Mitt is suddenly so Latino that hes eligible for Mexican citizenship!
¿You think Im kidding?
Although up to now about the only time hes mentioned Latinos is to say NO (a word conveniently the same in both English and Spanish), in one of his last appearances in New Hampshire, ¡he dropped the little known fact that his dad was born in Mexico!
Yup, suddenly, Romneys so one of us, hes even spawned a pinche parody @MexicanMitt Twitter account (¡coño, broderrrrrr ... ! [Okay, fine, that's a little Caribbean ...]).
Honest, carnales, Im not making this up. See, Mitts dad, the estimable George, was born in a Mormon colony in Mexico that had been established when the U.S. was persecuting Latter Day Saints for polygamy.
I know, youre thinking, un minuto, amigos, ¿didnt George Romney run for the presidency of los Estados Unidos back in 1968? Sí, sí, sí -- and heres what Wikipedia says about his eligibility:
While Romney was born in Mexico, he was still considered a viable and legal candidate for United States president. His Mormon grandfather and his three wives had fled to Mexico in 1886, but none of them ever relinquished U.S. citizenship. While the Constitution requires that a president must be a natural-born, the first Congress of the United States in 1790 passed legislation stating: "The children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond the sea, or outside the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural-born citizens of the United States." Romney and his family fled Mexico in 1912 prior to the Mexican Revolution. However, the Naturalization Act of 1795 repealed the Act of 1790 and removed the language explicitly stating that the children of U.S. citizens are natural-born citizens. As such, it is not clear that Romney was actually eligible for the office of president.
Oh, dios -- ¡it looks like Señor Romney may have been illegally running to be presidente!
But whats not illegal is that Mitt can go to any Mexican consulate right now and apply for citizenship, ¡because friendly Mexico welcomed his outlaw ancestors! Thats right: Because Mitts father was born in Mexico, all Mitt has to do to become an official mexicano is register at a consulate and have a little bit of patience and, ¡Órale!
In fact, Mitt still has a bunch of bilingual primos in Mexico whom hes never visited and think hes a cabrón for not supporting the Dream Act and other immigration reform.
Going into Florida, though, Mitt isnt playing Mexican -- ¡hes playing Cuban! His Spanish-language ad features the Cuban-American terrible trio, the Diaz-Balart brothers and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. (How Third World are the Diaz-Balart brothers? Well, when Lincoln decided to retire, he just handed his district over to his brother, whose own district had been drawn a lot less Cuban. Kinda reminds you of another baton passing, ¿verdad? ¿Qué? ¿You didnt know the Diaz-Balarts are Fidel Castros nephews?*)
Will any of this help Mitteo? Jajajajaja!
* Seriously NOT making that up.

In Illinois they are challenging Romney’s legitimacy to be on the ballot.
That is not a typo. I did not say Obama. I said Romney.
But they better be careful what they ask for, because if ever there was a “poople in glass houses” scenario, this would be it.
Maybe but team 0bama needs to remember that 0bama’s daddy was a British Subject when the Dear Leader was born in 1961..and that opens the conversation to 0bama’s natural born status..which is still under some investigation.
I recall Hillary remembered that she was of Jewish descent, and John Kerry revealed that his family was immigrant Czechoslovakian Jews, as well.
Amazing how campaigning causes one to look at the family tree in some depth.
I’m pretty sure Newt is African American.
And Rick Santorum is Chinese.
This is perfect!
Marxist Muslim BHO get’s the black vote ‘cause he black - er, sort of - half black?
Romney can get the Latino vote (are there more Latino votes than black votes?) because he is of La Raza.
And each of us can find minority lineage to support our questionable US citizenship, and if you don’t vote for us, or you question our eligibility - then you are a racist.
Just be careful to never run a ‘white’ candidate ‘cause they are evil and must be eliminated.
I don’t mind living in an insane asylum - I just wish the lunatics weren’t in charge!
The only reason the Romney family spent time in Mexico (about 100 years ago) was polygamy.
The federal government waged a 20 year war on `Deseret’ polygamy, chasing the Romneys to Mexico. Mexico’s civil war and dislike of gringos then chased them back.
It reminds me of some roach-infested apartments where I lived as a student: landlord sprays upstairs, roaches come downstairs, and vice-versa.
And people wonder why birthers are still mocked. With ignorance like this, who needs the enemy.
Sad, very sad to see the truth being bloodied by lies because one doesn’t personally care for a candidate who IS and ALWAYS has been a natural born citizen. Yes, it’s a sad day when so called constitutional conservatives will twist the law also.
According to the article, many are still there.
Yeah, my real name is Achy Obejas. You caught me!!
“Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say Ni at will to old Mexicans. There is a pestilence upon this land, nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress in this period in history.” Senor Manual Labor
It’s sad, its so sad
It’s a sad, sad situation
And it’s getting more and more absurd
It’s sad, so sad
Why can’t we talk it over
*Oh, it seems to me
That sorry seems to be the hardest word
What do I do to make you love me
I knew a girl many years ago—everything to her was “sad”: “That’s sad.” “I’m so sad.” “Get off my hair or you’ll be.” etc.
Did somebody from Salt Lake City help write this?
