Sarah Palin understands that only one candidate has the opportunity to stop Mitt Romney's momentum and give the Republican party a nominee who is truly conservative. The unusual voting process this year has allowed Mitt Romney to win Iowa and New Hampshire even without the support of a majority of Republicans. The choice is clear: if conservatives fail to unite behind a single principled candidate in South Carolina, they will be stuck with a Massachusetts moderate opposing Barack Obama.
Governor Palin understands that if the conservative vote remains split between non-Romney candidates, then the only beneficiary is Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney has the backing of the political establishment and a liberal media that is licking its chops to destroy him in the general election. Less than 1% of the Republican delegates have been awarded. If conservatives from around the country fail to unite in South Carolina, then they will lose their only opportunity to nominate the only candidate who represents the ideals of American greatness.
So today we conservatives face a critical challenge: will we repeat the mistakes of 2008 and nominate a candidate who lacks the ability to inspire conservatives with a vision of the America we love, or will we run a candidate who does not have the ability to draw a stark contrast with Barack Obama? We do not have the opportunity to leave anything to chance. We need the resources to buy every radio, television, and internet ad.
We are announcing a money bomb today to get us to our goal of raising one million dollars before Friday. Thats the only way we can secure the victory to keep the nomination process competitive. Will you make a contribution today to support our shared values?
To defeat President Obama, this election must be a definitive battle of ideas, and Speaker Gingrich has been the only candidate to consistently show the ability to articulate the ideas of limited government and personal freedom. Will you make a stand with Governor Palin to defend the ideas of American exceptionalism by making a contribution today? Thank You,
Michael Krull Newt 2012 Campaign Manager
Did Romney win Iowa? I think not.
Onto more important matters, Newt needs money and campaign people, and he needs both quickly.
The interesting thing is that Palin said all along she would get into the race if need be but now it’s clear what a basket case the rest of the field is but she is no where to be seen.
“Onto more important matters, Newt needs money and campaign people, and he needs both quickly”
Yes he does. Mitt has the big money and the organization of the Republican establishment. The only way Newt can win is with the grassroot support of the people. That means money and volunteers. I will be doing what I can. GO NEWT GO!
That's where a record comes in. Not just the record of votes, which is often a meaningless toll of positions taken for political reasons on bills that were always going to pass or were never going to pass, but a record of actions taken that actually mattered.
A record of actions taken that actually mattered. Newt is the man who fits that description to a "T".
He can identify what is most important to the country, develop a plan to overcome that challenge, articulate the the merits of overcoming the challenge and why the plan will work.
I hadn't been for Gingrich initially and spent plenty of energy excoriating him, these last several years, for any number of sins he committed against the Republican/Conservative ideals. He seemed a turncoat of sorts, particularly when he babysat Pelosi on the couch.
On reflection, Newt is an attention whore seeking relevancy for his ideas and I guess I take him at his word that he made a few mistakes in his life and he has at least some regret for those decisions. God knows I am no angel and so I have to reflect on the man's ability to get things done.
Newt gave us the Republican majority, the Contract with America and completed 2/3rds of his agenda while in office.
He now has a new plan for America and with what is likely to become a Congressional Super Majority and a Senate Majority, if not Super Majority, I believe he will absolutely accomplish his agenda.
Say goodbye to ObamaCare the single biggest scam and travesty foisted upon a free people who, by right, ought to have been given the opportunity to read the bill and debate it. Instead, a win at all cost, cheating agenda was developed and it was signed with most people never laying eyes on at least page 2 of this utopian dreck.
Executive Orders Positions:
The following are all within the executive powers to simply order and with the exception of securing the border within one year, they are all easily accomplished with the stroke of a pen and no way to challenge them in the legislature.
Keystone may be challenged in the courts but I think the Executive can order the EPA to approve, under National Security Priorities and it is a National Security issue, as well, a jobs issue.
As President, Newt, could actually have a very busy 1st week or month just on these initiative alone.
1. Eliminate the thirty-nine White House "Czar" positions created during the current administration. The president does not have the authority to appoint bureaucrats to power who are not accountable to the Congress.
2. "Mexico City Policy" of Respect for Life. Reauthorize President Ronald Reagan’s policy – also known as the "Mexico City Policy"— to stop tax payer dollars from being used to fund or promote abortions in foreign countries.
3. Restore conscience clause protections for Healthcare Workers. No American working in a medical environment should be forced to perform any procedure that he or she finds morally or ethically objectionable based on religious teaching. This protection should include, but not be limited to abortion. Existing conscience clause protections need to be strengthened.
4. Respect Each Sovereign Nation’s Choice of its Capital. Each sovereign nation, under international law and custom, may designate its own Capital. Accordingly, the U.S. State Department should be instructed to respect the choice of each sovereign nation and place the American embassy in their Capital. (Israel is the only country the United States discriminates against in this regard. The people of Israel have designated Jerusalem as their capital. Yet the United States retains its embassy in Tel Aviv.)
5. End the Attorney General's Assault on the States. Instruct the Attorney General to withdraw all immigration-related lawsuits against states immediately, including those pending in Arizona and South Carolina. The Obama Administration refuses to enforce federal immigration laws, and instead sues states who are merely trying to enforce the laws that the federal government neglects. The Gingrich Administration will secure the border by Jan. 1, 2014 by any means necessary.
Unleash American Energy by Approving the Keystone XL Pipeline. Instruct the State Department to approve a Presidential Permit immediately for the Keystone XL pipeline, a project that will send 700,000 barrels of oil a day from Great Plains and Southwestern states to Gulf Coast refineries lower staggering energy prices, and create up to 120,000 American jobs.
Now we get into the details of an inclusive agenda that brings the people(you and me), through their representatives, into process. The TEA Party and conservatives are going to have a majority in both houses.
Let’s elect an Executive who will absolutely fulfill the promise of our ideals.
Newt gave us the three most important victories of the 90’s Welfare Reform, Balanced Budget and Reduced Taxes. I hope I don’t need to describe the benefits of those victories. They ought to be obvious to everyone by now.
Lastly, there have been some reports that Newt shouldn’t get all the credit. Really? Then perhaps we marginalize the accomplishments of Washington, Roosevelt, Kennedy and ….wait for it… Reagan.
Do we really want to go down the road with that kind of adolescent sophistry and parsing of what happened?
Newt is the guy who thought of these big things, proposed them and shepherded their implementation?
Newt has once again identified what is important to us now, at this time and described how we can get there with our representative majorities. He has done it before and I declare Newt Gingrich was then and is Now a leader.
We should elect Newt Gingrich to the Presidency of the United States
Maybe she doesn’t think that Newt is a ‘basket case’. Heard her on Hannity. She knows all the candidates are going to go through this and this will toughen them she says.
Pretending that Romney won in Iowa, when it’s been known for some time that Santorum won, doesn’t come gracefully from Newt’s handlers.
Maybe Newt is the best bet, but coming out with this main-stream and Establishment lies isn’t the best way to prove it.
Wow. I would be very careful about speaking for Governor Palin.
Why isn't Newt naturally attracting grassroots donations, and lots of them?
So far, he was massively in debt and then being bankrolled by a casino magnate.
Again, it says something about Newt’s support among conservatives that he has not, and never has, attracted grassroots support, in particular donations.
He was massively in debt. Then he was bankrolled by a casino magnate.
In my view, it says something about his campaign and him that he is still not attracting small donations.
Sarah Palin has not endorsed anyone. Hopefully, there is still time for Republican voters to awaken and give their support to the only remaining conservative in the race.
Obama = Obamacare
Romney = Romneycare
Gingrich = Gingrichcare
Santorum = Get the federal government the hell out of the health care business
Which position sounds conservative to you?
I thought I heard on Rush that only 47% of the NH GOP primary voters were Republican. Sheesh!!!
Maybe the result of all this will be that Newt gets furthered vetted and finished off. You never know. And it seems to me that Palin is okay with that — not regarding Newt specifically, but about the entire process: as she used to say about herself “if I die politically I die.”
She has embraced it as part of the process.
The czars all serve at the pleasure of the President anyway. When Obama goes, they go. Not a big accomplishment.
It should also be pointed out that Newt's 'unfavorable' ratings are actually higher than Mitt Romney's. Go figure. Meanwhile, Rick Santorum's 'unfavorable' rating is under 10%. So there is a sizable portion of the voting population that would never vote for Newt, but would consider voting for Santorum.
Obviously, there are many here who are willing to throw it all away for another four years just so they can see Noot debate Obama. They simply don't understand how elections are won.
This author has totally missed the point of Governor Palin’s strategery:
I think the idea here is that, since it appears that Romney is going to win the nomination (just sayin), then at least:
(1) make Romney work really hard to earn it, and
(2) make Romney go on the record again and again with what he says he will do if elected President (such as repeal Obamacare), and
(3)make clear to Romney in no uncertain terms that his election (should it occur) is a business decision, not a lovefest, and he better well realize how very accountable to conservatives he is going to be if he makes it to the White House.
That is all.
Thank God Sarah does.......because nobody else could ever have figured it out.
"Interesting"? ------- Predictable.
Just had to find a flaw?
Newt likes private jets and fancy hotel rooms. Air Force 1 and the White House should cure that itch. ...Newt was fourth man up on the primary roller coaster ride, and grassroots money was growing tight, but that won’t be a problem if he holds the lead he has now. Expect donations to start going his way. Voters are nervous about sending good money to someone who is going to get knocked down by the media, especially if they’ve already given to a couple of almost rans.
That would be Rick Santorum? :D
I guess Iowa doesn’t matter anymore, because the wrong man won.
It’s same old, same old. Same game never changes. You might think the dice are loaded when they keep turning up 6s, but then you realize, that people actually want the 6s.
Then they come out shocked when they don’t like what they get.
If you want to trumpet on every thread Newt’s assertion that he will do what won’t even need to be done, because it will happen automatically should Obama be defeated, suit yourself.
Myself, I think that’s embarrassing.
