If Sarah is flirting, I was seduced a long time ago! For everyone who doesn't want Romney, this is huge!
It's only in the modern era that Presidential nominations have been locked up before most American voters even tuned in. So this year, for the nation, the Republican Primary is kind of a return to older times, when all Americans counted, not just the few power brokers. The race has been a very rich blue blood from New England ( where he would not carry one state in the general election ) and a group of three, Newt, Rick and Ron scrambling for the 60 plus percent of Republicans who won't be bought!
And now, a new card is thrown into the game, Sarah Palin coming off the bench to be the choice at a divided GOP Convention! And with just a hint, she will stir the pot and drive the media nuts! Hurrah for Sarah.
In one of my most recent columns I told you about a conversation I had with a friend who had attended CPAC. He told me that Sarah had been the closing speaker, and the best. And he said, she had indicated she was not out of the game, and he even predicted she would be the horse to mount for the General election race.
Wow.
That's the only verb that describes this possiblity. Did the Governor from Alaska out fox the pundits, the consultants, and the power elite in the GOP to dance right around all the murderous press that she would have had to endure?
Looks like this lady is not someone to play with.
I have been a Palin supporter from the beginning. For me, she was the choice by lengths. None of the rest of the candidates have her charisma, her grit, her unique character. For America, in this time of crisis and cross roads, there is only one person who can truly change the course of the ship of state! And that's Sarah.
So is this for real?
We can't know. She did not hint towards jumping in now. She hinted that she could be the one to pick in a brokered convention.
But this does provide a ray of hope. It provides one more reason NOT to vote for Romney. But it also provides a reason to go to the polls and vote for anybody other than Romney. It does provide a real reason to be involved. For the grass roots, make your choice from Newt, Rick or Ron but do it and be there on Primary Day. Don't let Romney buy you, or win because of apathy.
America does not have one flat tire. We have four flat tires, a blown engine, no battery, and a leaky gas tank where fuel is running ...and may ignite if it hits something electric or hot.
We need someone with a renewed vision of the old America. Yes, the old America. The one that put a man on the moon. The one that on Decemeber 25, 1991 won the half century Cold War liberating 500 million souls in 13 nations! We need the old America that when I was born was unquestionably the wealthiest, most powerful, most successful nation in the entire world. And we need someone who knows why all that happened.
Sarah proved in Alaska she could be an executive. She went against corruption in her own party...and beat the oil companies at the same time! In her third year as governor her approval ratings in Alaska were over eighty percent!!!! 80 percent!
So... we wait. But now, on the horizon, we see a light. So GOP grass roots, get to the polls, and pick anyone but Mitt!!!
Neither Mitt nor Rick meet the natural born citizen requirement. That leaves Newt and Ron who together won’t have enough delegates. Can anyone see Mitt or Rick giving their delegates to Newt or Ron?
This amounts to a very open door, a door big enough for the Tea Party while carrying Palin on our shoulders.
Please GOD let this happen.
Yes, by all means, wait for someone to tell you who to vote for.
No one tells me who to vote for. Sarah can point at someone and that someone will get my strong consideration and may even get my vote, in the end it will be my decision and no one else!
It is interesting to note Sarah's words when she is asked about Romney. She won't go out and attack him, instead she softly woos him to come to the conservative side.
I am thinking that she realizes the best way to reveal who Mitt really is, is to gently and firmly remind us of who is he not.
It is like witnessing to a non-believer. You might ask them if they believe in Christ and get one response, and probably a fight, but if you gently ask them several times if they would come to church with you, and they won't - Then there you are. You haven't wasted a lot of energy on them and they have revealed their true colors.

Mitt is no conservative and I don’t think he ever will be. It is not in his DNA. I suspect a lot of folks that consider LDS types to be conservative might extend that courtesy to Mitt, but it is certainly not a trait he knows.

Not only would I vote for her enthusiastically, I’d be out there volunteering and otherwise contributing to the cause as well. And I can’t believe I’d be the only one.
Palin, without trying, has made it probable there will be a contested convention. She is the gold standard for all Republican contenders. The primary voters are seeking and not finding someone better or equal to her. She has excited the imagination of the voter and they are eager to hear her expound conservative values. She exudes confidence as she effortlessly promotes the conservative message. The others look dull in comparison as they parrot their talking points and regurgitate their rehearsed lines. She is natural and spontaneous. She is the bright light of common sense while they stumble in the shadows of mediocrity.
That was my thought. And I sure wouldn’t be abrasive and aggravate other posters.

I wrote to her once - real, honest-to-God snail mail - and got a computer-generated answer. About what I expected. But in my letter, I tried to point out why she should run and at the end I asked, “If not you, then who?”
I’m sure her mail-box has been full of similar letters and that she hasn’t read very many of them, instead relying on some sort of ‘tabulation of sentiment’ by her office staff. With the monthly turnover in candidates she has to see that none of them can beat Obama except (possibly) Romney and he’d just be Obama lite.
Even her biggest detractors admit to her patriotism so it’s no great leap to imagine her getting the nomination at a brokered convention and going on to beat Obama and liberate America. Our job now is to make it possible. I can’t see how boting for Newt or Rick or Ron can help her any more than writing her name in.
I will vote for Sarah Palin - in the primary and the general elections.
She is definitely a wise and experienced politician, and she sees the big picture.
