Police Intervene, Arrest Ron Paul Backers at Missouri Caucus

Police and organizers shut down proceedings at one of Missouri's largest caucuses today, as Ron Paul supporters feuded with local GOP leaders.

"It's like the Hatfields and the McCoys around here," St. Charles County's former GOP chairman told ABC News, after police arrived on-scene with a helicopter and removed Paul backers.

In St. Charles, an exurb of St. Louis and one of the state's largest GOP counties, Paul supporters sought to elect their own chairman and adopt their own rules when proceedings opened - both of which are part of standard caucus rules and procedure. But as they argued with the caucus chair, Paul supporters held video cameras - against caucus rules, according to a GOP official who was there - and things became contentious.

"It turned into a little food fight within the caucus, between the caucus chairman trying to control the caucus and certain elements, I guess with Ron Paul, trying to be heard," said Tom Kipers, a former chairman of the St. Charles GOP, who attended the caucus at Francis Howell North High School....

From the linked article:
“Georgia is allotted 76 delegates for the Republican National Convention, which ultimately picks the GOP presidential candidate. Those delegates are bound to Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum based on the results of the state’s March 6 primary.

But even though Paul won no bound delegates in Georgia, his backers are still trying to win his supporters seats at the convention,”
********************************************************

So the Paulbots (who apparently stacked the meeting) are trying to have THEIR will supercede the will of the voters in the Primary. I understand why the local GOP successfully moved to neutralize the attempts of the Paulbot/LaRoche types (you know, if you can’t win at the ballot box, then win by subterfuge).

Keep reading :

'For if none of the four presidential candidates can win enough delegates to secure the nomination in the RNC’s first two ballots, Georgia’s delegates are then unbound from Gingrich and the other candidates, meaning they could then vote for Paul.'

That also means, if Romney doesn't get the victory on the first two rounds, Santorum or Newt could pick up the win. What the Paul acolytes are doing is perfectly legal in the GOP rules.

The Paulbots are an obnoxious bunch of mobsters; they are divisive and unruly at our meetings, and i’m not averse to getting rid of them any way we can.

Whenever someone says they support Ron Paul, they're telling you several important things: Romney's people are about the same, except they haven't yet threatened the livestock.

“.......That also means, if Romney doesn’t get the victory on the first two rounds, Santorum or Newt could pick up the win......”

Well, I’m not gullible enough to think that Paulbot delegates (whether REQUIRED to vote for Santorum or Newt or Mitt on the 1st two rounds) would vote for Santorum or Newt on the 3rd and subsequent rounds. The Paulbots would go “all in” for Mittens (or whoever Ron Paul directed them to vote for).

And by the way, what Hitler did when he established his dictatorship following the Reichstag fire decree was “perfectly legal in the” German parliamentary rules. That DOES NOT MEAN the Germans shouldn’t have recognized the Nazi intentions and attempted to stop the Nazi seizure of power. By the same token, just because a power move is “perfectly legal in the GOP rules” doesn’t mean we shouldn’t RECOGNIZE WHAT IS BEING ATTEMPTED AND TRY TO STOP IT.

Odd that the fact the Romneybots outnumbered the Ron Paul supporters at that caucus is not mentioned...

there were mostly RomneyBots and Paul supporters there..

The Paul supporters had to be objecting to some element that was muscling in...

Just sayin...

I’m with you on that one. Big ol’ WTF in action there. My Precinct, and later BPOU, were nothing like that... I would have called for a Sheriff had I seen anything like that going on. Not sure if fraud statues would apply, but I would have made a try at it.

I don’t see them following the rules of the conventions.

You are right. The Party chair there completely ignored the rules...

Not quite what you thought you were saying...

You might be sick of libertarians, but they are closer to the Tea Party than Bigger Government/ignore the rule GOP insiders are.

They’re there to cause trouble at the convention; they pledge to vote for Ron Paul although the delegates are supposed to voter for whoever won them.

Then in the general they will vote democrat. That is unless Cynthia McKinney decides to run again.

It took me some time but I agree with you. Paul is the only one with true values and sincerely cares about the future of our country

The only thing Cut and Run cares about is himself. He will do anything for attention.
How does requesting more earmarks than anybody running show a caring for our country? How does blaming every problem in the world on America show a caring for our country? How does wanting to destroy our military good for us? How does the legalization of drug and prostitution good for the country? How is putting perverts in the military caring for our country.
The surrender monkey cares, but not for our country. He cares for Ron Paul. I guess he just thinks he is the face of America. I do not think so though.

Thanks for your kind remarks. You list Hawaii as your home state. I was in Kauai a few months back. Loved it.
