I don’t like Mitt Romney, but this author may be on to something. Here is a thought: if Mitt Romney is the nominee, perhaps Congressman Eric Cantor would be a good choice for his running mate. Cantor isn’t perfect, but he could draw crossover votes from some Jewish Democrats.

You know, if you think about it, we have been doing this ‘Jew vs Christian’ thing a wee bit too long;)

Here’s the problem.
Romney dosent unite, he divides.
Same with Obama, but you know how this is going to go down.

Well, once Jews find out that mormons consider them gentiles, their view might change.

Medved is such a suck-up!
Maybe Jews prefer Mormons because Mormons don’t believe that Jesus is God.

Actually a lot of Jews don't care for Mormons because no matter how many times the Mormon church keeps promising they'll stop baptizing Jewish Holocaust victims, they keep on doing it.
Plus the Mormons baptized and sealed Hitler and Eva Braun. Lots of Jews aren't too fond on Hitler....

Really? Even when they learn that Mormons believe that THEY are the true Jews now? Yeah, that’ll fly.

Medved is engaging in wishing out loud. Ain’t gonna happen.
I would add Medved is a squishy conservative on his best days. On his worst, he’s a wishy-washy liberal turned sorta-neo-conservative on foreign policy. He has no appreciation for economics, nor now bad our economic situation is becoming.
In the end, he’s just another Ivy Leaguer, shilling for another of his cohort.

The very fact that his Mormonism makes him less popular among evangelical Christians almost certainly makes him more popular among American Jews. Academic analysis of the intersection of religion and politics suggests that Jews maintain a distinctlyand surprisinglyfavorable view of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Actually, it's the following actions by Mitt Romney that make Mitt Romney less popular among all Christians:
1. His continual lying about his own record, such as saying he has always been Pro-Life and that he was a serverely conservative Governor of MA.
2. His continual character assasination and lies about the actual conservatives in the race.
3. Implementing Gay Marriage as Governor in MA.
4. Supporting whole-heartedly Abortion.

They may be another reason. Many Mormons think that they are part of the “Lost Tribe of Israel”.One of their main Articles of Faith written by Joseph Smith Jr. is as follows: “We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.” (LDS Articles of Faith #10)

Not long after the LDS church reached Utah, those who practiced Judaism also arrived. Alexander Neibaur, a Jewish convert to Mormonism, arrived in 1848. The first permanent Jewish family in Utah is thought to be Julius Gerson Brooks and his wife Isabell

Hey guys, can you add some context to this point?
Such as the Mormons also believed the lost tribe settled in America and the DNA results of native Americans disproving this point?
How about some of the other falsehoods concerning the "tribes" of mormonism?

You are correct. They do make other claims. This is one of them.

Medved is off his medveds.
Jews may well wake up and reject 0bama. Probably not. Jews, I do not sense they have much love nor interest nor hate for Mormonism. They have lots of reasons to reject 0bama though. Lots. That doesn’t mean they will.

I don’t think this is true. However, I can say as a Jew that it probably is easier for us to accept a President who differs somewhat from the main religion of the country, because we do too.
But I don’t feel one whit closer to LDS than to Protestsnts and Catholics at all, personally.

No, we do not. We might UNDERSTAND their position easier. But we don’t prefer it.

Put the anti-Obama Jewish vote fantasy out of your mind.
Pew Research released a poll of American Jewish voters several days ago.
4% of Jewish voters ranked Israel as their number one concern.
51% of Jewish voters held a highly unfavorable view of the Republican Party.
Only 13% of Jewish voters held a highly unfavorable view of the Democratic Party.
Obama got 80% of the Jewish vote in 2008.
He will get at least 75% in 2012.
