Romney campaign donations hit $4.6 million following health care decision
The New York Daily News ^ | June 29, 2012 | Kristen A. Lee

Posted on 06/29/2012 1:13:03 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

In a brief televised statement following the decision, Romney vowed that his first priority upon entering the White House would be repealing the so-called Obamacare law.

President Obama may have won the health care battle at the Supreme Court, but Mitt Romney is claiming a victory in the money wars.

Since the court released its stunning 5-4 decision upholding Obama’s health care law Thursday morning, the Romney campaign has taken in a flood of donations from Republican supporters angry about the ruling.

Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul tweeted Friday that the campaign received more than 47,000 online donations totaling $4.6 million in the 24 hours since the ruling.

The surge in small donations indicates that the decision may be an effective weapon for Republicans to mobilize conservatives for the general election.

In a brief televised statement following the decision, Romney vowed that his first priority upon entering the White House would be repealing the so-called Obamacare law. Despite overseeing similar health care legislation while he was governor of Massachusetts, Romney said Thursday that the federal law “was bad policy yesterday, it’s bad policy today.”

In a surprise move, Chief Justice John Roberts cast the tiebreaking vote that preserved the law’s controversial individual mandate, arguing that it is constitutional as a tax.

Call me a RINO or whatever, but he just got $10 I couldn't afford. There's no way I'll sit here and let Barack Hussein Obama get another four year term.

The problem is that he can’t repeal ObamaCare on his first day in office. It’s a budget item now so the proper way to get rid of it is to pass a budget without it.

I suppose he could issue an executive order to end it but I’m guessing his advisers will be against it.

In this Alice In Wonderland new ObamaNation we live in? God Bless you! It was a so-called "Conservative" judge appointed by Bush and supported by many of us conservatives who handed Obama a victory in the court yesterday while Justice Kennedy was on our side.

That's the sad truth!

Let's see. According to some folks that post like you do Romney is going to kick me in the nuts. OK, that's an assertion you can have. Maybe you are right. Maybe you are wrong. Just for the sake of things I'll agree. Romney will kick me in the nuts!

On the other hand. Obama wants to cut my nuts off.

Hmm. I've given it some thought and darn it I'm a Romney supporter!!!!

You offer nothing constructive or positive; you are helping get Obama reelected.

Conservatives (like me) who wanted Gingrich in the primaries have a choice. We can grumble and sit out the election or waste our vote on some fringe candidate who has no chance, or we can join with other conservatives in fighting to save this Republic. After another Obama term, the USA will be unrecognizable.

The primaries are over and we lost. So, Diogenesis, are you in or are you out? Will you help us elect Romney? Or will you sabotage our efforts? It's time to lead, follow, or get out of the way.

Ifyou don’t want to support Romney with $$$ you can suppor the Senate races...http://www.nrsc.org/ We need at least fifty one (tax issues) but a veto proof house and senate would be wonderful.

We are all going to have a ton of leftist crap forced upon us with, either, more of President Obama, or four years, if not, even, more, of a President Romney! Leftist crap for many years to come v.s. Leftist crap for many years to come! Where’s the choice, in the race for ‘12 POTUS? And, why be forced to vote for a RINO, yet again? How can the “vote for the RINO” trend, actually and finally, end? I’m way beyond sick of this never ending trend!

Dude it's like this!!

Romney is what we got handed to us and as much as I do not like Romney I HATE OBAMA 10 FOLD!!

So lets get Romney in and start kicking the Rinos out of the house and senate and just maybe we might have a chance to change things.

2nd post down tells me that you are an opportunist and wait for threads like these so you can take your fit.

These guys have a choice. They can get Obama out of office or engage in a shooting war.

They act so pompous about having to vote for Romney because they are more worried about not looking “pure” enough, but they actually think they are going to have to stones to pick up a gun?

These anti-Romney posters make no sense at this point. There's really no difference between Romney and Obama? Come on! If they were as disheartened as they claim to be, they wouldn't have the energy to post; they'd be off fishing or stocking up for the end of the world. Instead, they post here, trying to discourage other conservatives from uniting behind Romney. I suspect some of them are trolls.

In any case, I am going to keep the promise I made in a post to an anti-Romney freeper yesterday: I am going to donate $5 for every anti-ROmnet post I read here every month.

Romney has no record as POTUS. We can theorize what he may do. Obama does have a record as POTUS and is in the process of destroying this country.

It is theoretical politics vs. reality.

I chose reality. Obama must be defeated in November.

Anybody But Romney’s choose daydreams, photoshops and unicorns because they add nothing constructive to the defeat of BHO.

Some have chose to cut and run in the face of tyranny. Some have chosen to stand their ground and fight. History will be the judge.

That’s like flushing your money down the toilet. ObamaCare is Romney’s worst issue, since he is on record supporting RomneyCare and the mandate on a national level for many years. He is also on record removing references of his support from his book, and then directly contradicting and lying about interviews and speeches he has given where he has praised RomneyCare as a good option nationally. Even now, Mittens’ surrogates have already stated that ObamaCare can’t be repealed in its entirety, and that Republicans are going to want/need to keep “the good parts.” Romney is a pathological liar just shilling for votes, and like Obama he is not being honest about his real positions, instead using his surrogates to float his real opinions.
