Do You Wish You Voted For Obama Instead Of McCain?
The Western Center for Journalism ^ | July 10, 2012 | Derrick Hollenbeck

A google search using the term, “McCain voters say they wished they’d voted Obama” shows about 7,450,000 items, but searching through them yields not a single article about voters feeling this way. When most people are asked, “We all know people who voted for Obama and say they wished they had voted for McCain, but where are the people who say they voted for McCain but wish they had voted for Obama?” they start laughing.

By now, we have all heard the public “secular confessions” of the Barack Obama supporters who wish they hadn’t done what they did. These people feel a need to confess their sin so some intelligent voter can pat them on the head and say, “It’s alright, you meant well.” Of course it’s not alright, so the legions of “Obama Vote Regreters” (OVRs) seems to be growing.

Stories about OVRs like the one recently posted by The Des Moines Register are rare. How stark does the picture have to be to force the media to talk about cracks in their king’s armor? Pretty bad is the answer, and that’s what the situation is in Iowa where just four years ago Barack Obama cruised to a land slide victory.

The Register’s small but telling survey talked to 23 self- identified 2008 Obama voters including Republicans, Democrats, and Independents and found an astounding 18 said they would definitely not vote for Obama in November. What’s worse for Obama is that each of these OVRs had a different reason for turning away from him. One was a “longtime Democrat” who came to understand what a serious mistake she made and felt it was necessary to “confess” her sin. A small business owner, she said, “I wish to have my vote back. I feel completely responsible, and I feel like I need to tell people this.”

Another OVR saw Obama as a divider rather than a uniter, others were concerned about our national debt, and others worried about unemployment. Their answers varied so much that there is no way Obama can address all or even some of their concerns. These people are dead to Obama. The question is: how many more OVRs are out there across the country? All signs point to there being millions of them.

I voted for McCain and held my nose when I did. Because I had to hold my nose led me to believe he would lose in a landslide. I was right.

We had no good choice in 2008. To some, it appears that Romney is a better choice than we had in 2008.

I believe it's an illusion. McCain is actually much more conservative than Mitt Romney is. That's the sad part. Romney appears to be a better choice than we had in 2008 simply because of where the present pResident has taken this nation is the past 3 years. We are in such a bad situation that even Jimmy Carter would appear to be a good choice today.

It's a real shame conservatives could not unite around one candidate during the primaries instead of giving Romney a split conservative opposition to run against.

A shame Sara Palin or Allen West didn't jump in. It would have been theirs to lose.

I voted for McCain and I sent him $50. I had never sent a candidate a dime in the past & could not afford to do so at the time, but I KNEW Obama was bad, real bad. Even I underestimated HOW BAD!

As for Romney, he is allot of things many of them I do not care for and generally is not a conviction conservative, But he IS a businessman. He is incredibly competent and possibly one of the best managers ever. He is boring and not a great speaker, but he is a man of accomplishment and to deny that is dastardly and wrong.

He will do a great deal that will put the countries economy on a more prudent course if for no other reason than the fact that he is not actively trying to destroy it.

I would have preferred a better and more dynamic forceful Conservative, but given the choice we have, we have no choice. We must bite the bullet and vote Romney and support him as much as is possible. Our children need for us to stop the madness.

And, how much lower will the “bar of expectations” go for all future general election choices for POTUS, in ‘16, ‘20, ‘24, etc.? During each and every future presidential election cycle, the final MAJOR choices for POTUS keep getting worse and worse! What will be “conservative voters”/”very conservative voters” future excuses to vote in the majority for the next RINO candidates for FINAL GENERAL ELECTION MAJOR POTUS PICKS, in ‘16 and beyond, instead of voting in the majority for actual conservatives, in the general election, in ‘16 and beyond?

House votes 240-182 to approve rule covering healthcare repeal

Guaranteed Obama won't repeal his obscene attack on Liberty.
At least with McCain Romney, there's a chance.

I voted for Sarah!

Yup. That was the case here too.

By the way. I was doing some work at a flower shop when this couple drive in with Obama stickers all over their car. The car was full of lowers from a funeral that had just ended. They were trying to re-sell the flowers to the flower shop for money to give to the Obama campaign. The shop owner told me that was the second time this month that it's happened.

Obama must be really needing money. Not only is he stealing dead names to vote but now he's robbing them of their flowers too!

Not with a Democratic majority in Congress. There was a reason why so many Republicans got voted into power in 1994.

If the white folk who voted for Obama in 2008 because of his race don't vote for him again it will be said by the Left it's because of his race.

I expect a huge “Bradley Effect” and current MSM polling bias and liberals overplaying the race card are going to be responsible.

The Left has convinced most Americans that this November is going to be 2000 all over again except improved vote fraud should give it this time to the Democrat—when it may be 1982 all over again.

McCain lost...hate to break it to the author.

He should have lost, too, with his dumb decisions to: (1) be nice, (2) shackle Palin, and (3) play the gelded Lone Ranger and belly-up on TARP.

To this point, Romney is using McCain’s strategy.

He's lost the Latino vote. Wont even let them have real forks when they eat with him.

He's on his last loot tour now.

I voted for McCain because Bob Barr is an ass.

Yep... Pretty much the ONLY reason I held my nose and voted for John “Quisling” McCain.

I’d love to have a candidate to vote FOR instead of continually having to “hold my nose” and vote for the “lesser of two evils”.
