United States Senator Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) reveals the progress that he has made in his recovery after suffering an ischemic stroke in January. Sen. Kirk recently completed a 9-week mobility study at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, where he worked tirelessly to improve his walking, speech, and mobility. During the course of the study, Sen. Kirk walked a total of 14.79 miles and climbed 145 flights of stairs.
The video shows great determination and amazing progress.
I am just shocked that Illinois has a Republican Senator....That is incredible. Prayers for continued improvements in health.
That must have been one hell of a TIA. TIA’s have similar symptoms but they are usually temporary and don’t exhibit the same kind of damage a full blown stoke does. I had a TIA a number of years ago and had zero damage from it (after going through a lot of tests).

Sen Kirk had a completed stroke, (cerebrovascular accident) not a TIA (transient ischemic attack) ... signs and symptoms or neurologic dysfunction persist in the stroke due to permanent damage vs TRANSIENT neuologic dysfunction (by definition less than 24 hours) which clears. Surprised the dems haven’t figured out how to force him out and get one of their own in there... paging Jessie Jr...oops nevermind he’s unavailable, too !!

Prayers for Sen. Kirk.
Only 3 counties (if I recall correctly) went democrat in the 2010 governor’s race. Most of Illinois—outside of Cook, DuPage, and other Chicago area counties—is quite conservative. Problem with Cook County et al. is they are so massive they overwhelm the rest of the state which is not nearly as densely populated (or corrupt). That being said, a lot of us downstaters refer to “The People’s Republic of Illinois” when discussing our government.
Prayers up for Sen. Kirk’s continued recovery.
Amen.
