I am a purist, I will vote for the scum Romney because I have to hold my nose in the hopes that he will turn out more conservative in the end. Ryan helps a little, but I dont see Ryan as a huge conservative either. I am giving money, just not to Romney, ... He should be able to beat Obama without spending a penny, the guys in the White house should have been impeached but the guys in Congress dont have the nads, they are afraid of being called racist. There are many good candidates that are worth paying attention to, we need to bring in the next crop of conservatives. Finally! A Romney hater who is also a realist who is willing to fight to give this Nation at least a chance of slowing down the rush towards the abyss. I'm with you and will even dontae to Romney if it comes to that to keep him viable.

TO ALL WHO THREATEN TO SIT OUT THE VOTE THIS YEAR:
Better people than you fought and died to secure your right to vote for the person of your choice. Failing to exercise your civic responsibility is a slap in the face for all those who made the supreme sacrifice.

Please refrain your comment to what I have actually stated and I will respond. You and your buddy were running down us "purists," i.e. us Constitutional Conservatives who refuse to reward the crooked, corrupt GOP-E by holding our noses (once again) and voting for lesser evils. There's no walking that back now.

Maybe Romney has had a conversion. Don't hold your breath. Romney is not Reagan and has been caught in enough lies and flip-flops over the years on all the key Conservative issues that nothing he says can be believed.

I guess youre against the 1st amendment as well. So Free Republic is a government entity chilling your 1st Amendment rights now?
That's weak.

"Maybe Romney has had a conversion. Its happened before; I have spent most of my life as a Democrat. I recently have seen fit to follow another course. I believe that the issues confronting us cross party lines. - RR"You apparently haven't gotten the memo. As California governor, RR signed a bill allowing abortions in CA, he signed a "Tax increase to balance the budget", and he was a member of the GOPe. This makes him a "baby killing abortionist RINO tax and spender". No other position is tolerated.

Was this a FReeper Twitter feed? I know I’ve read very similar stuff here.

Oh, thanks, how sweet! =).
Our ONLY option now is to get rid of the marxist in the white hut...along w/ his conspirators.
After 2010, we knew it would take several elections, perhaps a generation or 2 to get America back on track. Why some people are allowing their PRIDE to force them to not vote R&R is beyond me.

Oh please. You’re just a little butt kissing tattle telling troll trying to get REAL FReepers banned.
I’ve seen you on other threads, pinging to Jim, “telling” on them.
Perhaps you are just a troll trying to cause trouble here on FR.

The lesson that the GOP will probably learn from your scenario, is that it needs to jettison purists once and for all.

If you can't rely on something at the precise moment that you need it the most, because that thing that you need to rely on is only reliable when the circumstances suit it, then get rid of it.
If the GOP realizes that "purists" will only supprt the GOP when the Party's candidates meet their test, then it may be best to not count on them at all.

Thank you. That is one of the truest statements I have heard since, well, Paul Ryan’s speech yesterday!

Soooooooooo...you’re saying Free Republic is not a free forum? That would be kinda ironic. I don’t think there is anyone here more conservative than I am. What’s the requirement for membership now? And why is voting to keep a Marxist out of office offensive?
