Yesterday, Georgia Democrat Congressman John Lewis of Georgia’s 5th District used the race card tactic with his speech at the Democratic National Convention in pressing points that if Romney wins in November, surely the GOP and Romney will send African-Americans back to the days of segregation.
After three minutes of telling the story of the days of segregation when he and other Africans-Americans were forcibly denied access to restaurants, public transportation and the ballot box, Lewis asked, “Brothers and sisters, do you want to go back?
The democratic audience shouted no.
After continuing using race as a reference in relation to voter id laws enacted in some states, he stated, “Today is unbelievable. That there are Republican officials are trying to stop some people from voting – their changing the rules.”
Lewis’ race comments have been the cornerstone of democrat tactics for many years, but more so in this year’s elections.
Just last month, Vice President Biden whose numerous gaffes are well known, told an audience who were mostly black at a campaign stop in Danville, Va., that Republicans were "going to put you all back in chains."(continued)

As the great Walter Williams said, segregation was a true example of Big Government at work. It was a system that had to be imposed by the state. Naturally without the state, people of all races and creeds would have interacted in all facets of life. That is why the Statists of the Democrat Party at the time had to impose their will. If segregation was natural then the Statists would not need to pass any laws, which they did.
One of the lies of our time is that the Segregationists were so called “Conservative” Democrats. There was nothing Conservative about them. The Southern Democrat of that time was 100% behind the New Deal Socialist agenda. Big Government was their ideology in matters of race and economics. There was nothing Conservative about them.
Imagine the reaction if a Republican had said “If Obama wins, blacks will feel free to riot, murder, and rape white folks!”
