Florida voters split, but think Obama will win: poll
Sun Sentinel ^ | October 2, 2012 | Anthony Man

Florida poll released on the eve of Wednesday's debate shows President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney effectively tied in the Sunshine State – with most voters concluding Obama will end up winning the election.

The Suffolk University/WSVN-Ch. 7 poll shows Obama with 46 percent of the vote and Romney with 43 percent. The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points, which means the two are running neck and neck.

Florida has enough undecided voters and people who favor one candidate but might change their minds that the state and its 29 electoral votes – more than 10 percent of the total needed to win the presidency – could go for Obama or Romney.

Even so, most people – including a fair number who plan to vote for Romney – think Obama will win a second term on Nov. 6, the poll found. Regardless of who they're supporting, 62 percent of Florida voters see Obama as the winner, 29 percent think Romney will win and 9 percent aren't sure, according to the poll.

A poll of “all voters” is a junk poll. Plus the margin of error is huge enough to say Romney 47 Obama 42. GIGO.

The party ID was D +5 (Dem 42, Rep 37, Ind 21). This compares to 2008 of D +3 (Dem 37, Rep 34, Ind 29) and 2004 of R +4 (Dem 37, Rep 41, Ind 23

The funny thing about political polls is...everyone who asks me my opinion of them as their known local resident “news junkie”, has not once been “polled” by anyone.
Nor can they name any friend, family member, co-worker or casual acquaintance who has participated in any “poll”.

Who, if anyone, is participating in these polls?

Ask around.
