Andy’s latest rant is sure to raise a smile. The great irony is that he identifies the problem with laser precision but is clueless as to the cause.
"The Pew poll is devastating, just devastating. Before the debate, Obama had a 51 – 43 lead; now, Romney has a 49 – 45 lead. That’s a simply unprecedented reversal for a candidate in October. Before Obama had leads on every policy issue and personal characteristic; now Romney leads in almost all of them. Obama’s performance gave Romney a 12 point swing! I repeat: a 12 point swing.

Nothing pleases me more than the wailing and gnashing of teeth of the leftists.
So how does the turd campaign make up for such a loss? How much fraud will this require? What kind of national emergency can be manufactured that’s big enough to get the numbers back into the turd camp? These are the questions being addressed this second by Axelrod and company.
“Barrack Obama threw away 10 months of work and a half a billion dollars in 90 minutes.”
This is not unlike how he governs.
All these post debate analyses are fun, but I am starting to get nervous. It’s still 30 days to the election, and a lot can change.
While I don’t expect Obama to do much better in the following debates, Mitt cannot afford to get overconfident. One gaffe... one boneheaded response to a “gotcha” question, and the MSM will be all over him.
We need to keep focused and save the victory celebrations for November.
Late October surprise.....Mitt has a love child...he got an under-age gal pregnant while he was drunk and smoking crack......OR he cut off an old lady on the freeway with her turn signal on for 4 miles....either one.
From the Lefty perspective, this the perfect time for a "Town Hall" debate, where the collaborationist press can call upon people damaging to Romney and helpful to 0bama. Romney will have to be on his toes until debate #3, where he'll have a chance at N0mas 0bama Mano-a-mano once more.
I was reading National Journal's coverage of the poll - a more factual, non-editorial interpretation - just coverage. Did Andy mention this:
Republicans now make up 36 percent of likely voters, up from 29 percent last month. Democratic identification among likely voters declined from 39 percent last month, to 31 percent now.
If this is an accurate reflection of the breakdown of likely voters in the US, then you add in the remaining 33% independents breaking right at some proportion at least .6 (60%) - more likely much higher ... oh this is not pretty at all for the dems.
Further - those numbers tell me that people are now self-identifying for the first time based on the 'un-coolness' factor of Obama ... no longer is it that 'cool' to be a Dem. (Of course it never was.)
Unless it's just a matter of Dem voters not making it through Pew's 'likely' screen now that they are unenthused. But more likely - they are abandoning the sinking Dem ship like .... well ... rats. I don't see them going back
I've been trying to explain to a couple dem friends that the debate was not a reduction of Obama's popularity along some continuum, but that it was a structural event. I.e - the boat's not just leaking ... it took 10 cannons to the bow.
Obama wasn't merely reduced in that debate - he was shattered.
“The Pew poll is devastating, just devastating. Before the debate, Obama had a 51 43 lead; now, Romney has a 49 45 lead. Thats a simply unprecedented reversal for a candidate in October. The polls that had Obama in the lead were never right, as they were skewed toward 2008 exit polling data. Were these polls using 2010 data, this wouldn’t be such a shock to these morons in the media.
Romney has been winning this thing since he was nominated.
What happened in the debate is so simple it is no wonder the media can’t understand it. For four years, the media has told the world, told each other, and told themselves that Obama was smart, that he was a fantastic orator, that he was a master politician, and that he was extremely articulate.
Even four years ago, there were plenty of Youtube videos proving that without a teleprompter, Obama can’t articulate “good morning.” Not even the media was able to hide that Obama needs two teleprompters to talk to 8-year-olds. At the debate, Obama’s performance was exactly the same as it always is with no teleprompter. And the media was not able to hide the fact.
The media for the last year has told the world, told each other, and told themselves that Romney is an animal-abusing greedy demon who hates the poor and deliberately gave a woman cancer. At the debate Romney was able to articulate his vision; instead of having 30 seconds of Romney and 20 minutes of liberal analysts talking about Romney, voters go to see the real deal.
Romney is not a fantastic politician. But he is a viable alternative to Obama, and that is enough to win. I still wish the Republican party had used the opportunity of a generation to promote a staunch conservative, but the election really is ABO, and the debate will serve as the catalyst.
This is what happens when a totally unvetted guy runs into real opposition for the first time ever in life.
I know you are on to something on the IQ differential.
If he is stupid enough to believe in 0bama then he is stupid enough to believe that the polls weren’t skewed.
...”Nothing pleases me more than the wailing and gnashing of teeth of the leftists”...
I think it is important to know something about these biased journalists to better understand them and their ideas..It might give some idea as to why and how they formed their hatred for American traditions. In my opinion we need to know much more about those whose writings influence our culture. Who are they?
I have included a few quotes about Sullivan from widipedia..If you are curious go to the following link and read more.
“Andrew Michael Sullivan (born 10 August 1963) is a British author, editor, political commentator and blogger. He describes himself as a political conservative, though he has been increasingly at odds with the modern Republican Party on many issues. His focus is U.S. politics but frequently writes about culture and society.
“Born and raised in England, he has lived in the United States since 1984 and currently resides in Washington, D.C. and Provincetown, Massachusetts. He is an openly gay Catholic....”
“Sullivan was born in South Godstone, Surrey, England, to a Roman Catholic family of Irish descent, and was brought up in the nearby town of East Grinstead, West Sussex.
Sullivan earned a Master in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, followed by a PhD on government from Harvard, his dissertation being on the conservative British philosopher Michael Oakeshott.”
“Sullivan, in 2003, wrote a Salon article identifying himself as a member of the gay “bear community”. On 27 August 2007, Sullivan married his husband Aaron Tone in Provincetown, Massachusetts.”
“Sullivan had a long-expressed desire to become a U.S. citizen, but was barred for many years from applying for citizenship because of his HIV-positive status. Following the statutory and administrative repeals of the HIV immigration ban in 2008 and 2009, respectively, Sullivan announced his intention to begin the process of becoming a permanent U.S. resident and citizen. On the episode of The Chris Matthews Show of 16 April 2011, Sullivan confirmed that he is now a United States Permanent Resident, showing his United States Permanent Resident Card (aka Green Card).”...
“Sullivan is a former editor of The New Republic and the author of five books. He is perhaps best known as the author and editor of his blog, The Dish, which mainly focuses on political issues.”
"You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked."
and the reality...a sandman with feet of clay...
The tectonic plates of political alignment are shifting....
Causing a giant TSUNAMI
That will wash away Obama and his minions into the dustbin of history.
If Obama loses the election, Little Andy may be sent back to Blighty. Obama has covered his rear end (pardon the expression) over non-citizen Little Andy’s marijuana arrest, HIV status and, I believe, being caught having public sex in Provincetown.
As I always say, America has been very bad for Little Andy.
That’s my perspective as well.
People saw, for the first time in four years, that Obama isn’t as brilliant as they’ve been told.
The reason why there has been such a large movement in the polls is that this has come as a shock to a whole lot of people. Most people don’t like being lied to - and a bunch of people probably figured out that they’ve been sold a bill of goods in Obama, and that if they’d been told honestly what Obama’s capabilities were in 2008, they might have voted differently.
But for all that, here’s the added upside to this event:
I’ve talked to two people in the last week who could not believe the divergence between how Obama has been portrayed and how he was when out on his own with no safety net of the media to protect him. Both people thought this over for several days and came (independently) to the conclusion a) they’ve been lied to, and b) it was the media who did the lying.
The media is going to take a big hit coming out of this as well. They don’t realize that yet, but the media has sown the wind and now they’re going to reap the whirlwind for doing so.
