Skip to comments. What in the heck is going on in Ohio? (VANITY)
Posted on 10/19/2012 9:21:26 AM PDT by AdamBomb
Everything is breaking our way. We have the momentum and a great candidate.
But something isn't right in Ohio. How in the world can zero be tied or up in this state?
Does anyone have any inside information or plausable theories?
Talk to LS and Ravi.
Look for it to spread out to PA and believe it or not, into Maryland, Delaware...
cheatin’ & lyin’
carpet bombing of negative ads by Obama and his pacs - faulty polling - big ground game operation in Ohio by O.
If everybody knew that Obama was losing FL, VA, OH, and NC, then it’s writing off the election as a whole.
You really think the media is going to anoint Romney as the all but declared winner?
Sigh. Please follow our threads for the past two weeks.
I’ve seen your threads. What is your honest opinion as of today?
Also, what has Kasich done to help?
Isn’t Ohio where the “FreeCellPhone” lady lives?
Ravi, one more interesting tidbit: my county chairman says they think they can actually WIN Montgomery Co., which we have consistently lost since 2000. We outregistered the Ds by 5000, which is usually our margin of loss. We also dropped 18,000 military ballots here!
Contact them and demand equal Free Time for Romney!
We have FReepers on the ground in OH who have provided their perspectives, and they are well- informed and well-reasoned.
I’ll just say, if OH doesn’t come our way in the end, I will be shocked, dumbfounded.
We have a ground game there to end all ground games. People are working like there is no tomorrow to bring the results home when all the votes are counted. That matters.
In addition, look at it this way...don’t simply think of OH as a state that ought to mirror America’s choice at large. Think of OH as also being famous for BEING WITH THE WINNER ON ELECTION DAY. If it looks like Romney is going to win, OHIOANS who are open to voting either way (I know...who could possibly think of voting Obama again???) will WANT to vote with the winner, not the loser!
That factor is often overlooked. I for one refuse to believe that enough Ohioans are so GLUED TO OBAMA that they would vote for him against a portended Romney victory. I WON’T believe that until it is proven to me.
Well...I am happy to announce here that we have Idaho sewed up for the Romney/Ryan ticket.
After a lot of hard work, I believe we will achieve a 80%+ majority vote, well over the almost 70% we acheived in 2008...an off year for us up here.
I’d like to take this moment also to personally thank you. I was very much buying into the doom & gloom propaganda until I saw your posts.
True. It’s about the only state in the country that just doesn’t budget a point, regardless of what happens everywhere else.
It was really close in Ohio prior to the debates, and it still is!
There will be plenty of pre-marked Obama ballots found in Cleveland community center basements and car trunks the morning of Nov. 8
“Ya got a cell phone, ya know - he’s gonna do MORE!”
To understand Ohio, you have to really look at Cuyahoga county. Cleveland has pretty much told the tale for that state in the past elections. They have lost over half of their registered voters since 2008 and 45% of those are Democrats. There’s some huge shifts like this that aren’t being accounted for by a lot of pollsters.
By the way, Mitt is up 1 now in New Hampshire according to left wing PPP.
Maryland and delware are pretty solid obama. I dont really see much change there. We do need either Ohio or PA. I would concentrate more heavily in Ohio. Much closer than PA.
I truely believe it is over, they just don't want to admit it.
No one talks about it of course, as it would be in poor form.
However, I've seen a number of "Fire 0bama" signs on lawns, something I never thought I would see on anyone's lawn.
Romney should pull out of Ohio and go to NY or CA-
according to some polls it is a lot closer there than anyone expected
he wins ONE of those and he wins
NATIONALIZE the election and stop with the single state by state focus. He needs a Republic Congress
You can say that again.....errr you did say that again!!
Thanks, but LdSentinal and Ravi and plushaye did most of the work and Jet Jaguar did all the ping lists.
I heard Romney is pulling out of NC since it’s a given and moving his people to OH.
Save this spreadsheet of absentee ballots and early voting in the state. It is updated every couple of days and it shows that Obozo's numbers are way down and Mitt's are up over 2008 McCain numbers throughout the state.
It's usual for Dems to be ahead in early voting and absentee's but on Election Day, Ohio votes Republican in great numbers. Last time some of those people stayed home, this time enthusiasm and momentum are with Mitt.....and those people will not make that same mistake this time.
Having lived there and endured the deafening campaign ads for many years, I predict Ohio is Romney's.......
Remember that if the voters show an early win for Romney, Obozo won't be able to get his minions to stand in line and vote on election night out west....so they need a firewall to make that happen...Ohio is that firewall and expect the media to hold off calling it.
They need people to stay in line in to vote in Wisconsin and Iowa to get people to stay in line to vote in Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada etc. You get my meaning.....
IIRC, Ohio recently elected a Republican governor and legislature, and, in the deal, started its own mini-recovery. So things just are not as bad in Ohio as they are in much of the rest of the country. That might explain why Ohio hasn’t fallen to Romney.
That means instead of getting 35% of the vote he might get as much as 40% of the vote.....he doesn't need to waste any money in either of those eastern block states!!!
Probably have 50,000-100,000 ballots-for-Obama in the ready, if they need it. Cleveland and Cincinatti, for sure, will have massive (D) vote counts....as always.
Can’t speak for NY but for CA forget it. Romney will never win CA. I would double my efforts in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Ohio State University voters.
Watch and weep...
I live in St. Mary’s County Md. We will go Romney,
Bet on it.
Of course PG will go Obama. Baltimore will go Obama.
Charles will be split and the Eastern shore will go Romney.
Montgomery will probably go Obama
Angry_White_Man_Syndrome is wrong! It’s more like 10 or 12 to 1 :)
A_W_M_S’s wife (who he knows is never wrong, right, honey? LOL)
P.S. Remind me to put those chocolates and tissues on the next grocery list! ;)
I show the great state of Maryland solid Obama. Should I move it to my tossup column?
Now you sentence is more correct on any other presidential election year, but this time, Ohio belongs to Romney....I'm certain of it.
On the Wednesday after the election, you will be P!ssed after you see by how much it was......it's gonna be a lot bigger than the media wanted you to think......
We don't have a great candidate. We have Romney.
So, Obama has to rely on early and absentee voting to win, and he is dramatically underperforming his 2008 results. That points to a Romney win (by two to three points, IMO) if you are paying attention, but the pollsters are not - they still factor in a sizeable Democratic turnout advantage, based on 2008 results, but the data already available for this election show that advatange no longer exists.
In a nutshell, ignore the polls. :)
There's about a dozen "Romney/Ryan" signs in front of my house here, and I can't risk putting stickers on my vehicle because I do some work in the City of Cleveland, and don't want to have my vehicle vandalized (it CERTAINLY would be, in Cleveland, with stickers that don't say "OBAMA"). I won't be pissed at all if Romeny/Ryan wins by a minimal amount in Ohio, just so it out-distances the "found" votes to over-turn it.
In Cinciinnati, I haven’t seen 1 Obama ad. They have simply disappeared. Romney’s ads, all positive, have increased.
Well then I’d also like to extend my gratitude to you guys as well! You made an impact on me for sure.
I live in Cuyahoga County, and I see a few Obama signs, but fewer Romney signs. Of course, we have more dusky-skinned Obama supporters than you guys do, and we just don’t want our property vandalized.
Is Ohio one of the states that has hired the Soros owned Spanish company to count their ‘votes’? Why is there no open list of the ones who have sold their souls to the foreign control over counting our votes?
Its all about turn out here. 2008 is the statistical model they are using and it won’t repeat. It may be close, but Romney will take Ohio.
So, don’t you agree that Romney is Night and Day better than the current occupiers of the WhiteyHut? Or is it a backdoor vote for nobama via Virgil or Whatshisname from NM?
No: It will go to Obama.
Unfortunately there are too many yellow dog Democrats and Obama look-alikes to save the state, but many counties will go to Romney. Unfortunately Steny Hoyer will stay also PG outnumbers us.Too many Obama voters there for the rest of us to dump Steny.
Obama will carry Montgomery Co, Prince George's Co, Charles Co, Howard Co and Baltimore city. The rest of the state will go to Romney by huge margins. But it won't be enough to flip the outcome here. It never is. We have too many federal workers and the entitlement classes are numerous.
I was at a small rally for Ryan, and while people were against obama they weren’t enthused about voting for Mitt until after the debate. The debate was a big factor for them...Hamilton Co.
