Let sequestration happen - all those "devastating" defense cuts that will simply bring defense spending back to 2007 levels. Let all the Obamacare taxes kick in. Kicking the can down the road only delays the inevitable confrontation closer to the next election in which the Republicans will bear the blame if they ever actually pull the trigger and exercise their constitutional prerogatives in the House of Representatives. Perhaps better to bring on the confrontation now and let Obama deal with the economic and political consequences for the next two years.
