Top Romney strategist: No, I wouldn’t say the media’s “in the tank” for Obama

Via Mediaite, I’m going to cut this guy a bit of a break, for two reasons. One: He’s not denying that the media’s on Obama’s side. He’s quibbling with the phrase “in the tank,” which he seems to define, roughly, as being unwilling to ask uncomfortable questions under any circumstances. By that definition, he’s right — why, just this morning the White House press corps got Jay Carney to skedaddle from the podium by pressing him a bit too hard about OFA influence peddling. It’s not that they categorically refuse to report stories that are “unhelpful” to the administration, it’s that they pull their punches with The One in ways they never, ever would with a Republican. The tone of their coverage about the DOJ’s “white paper” memo on targeting U.S. citizens is a classic example. So is Benghazi. In both cases they covered the story, but their coverage was more circumspect and incurious than it would be under President McCain or President Romney. Partly that’s because O’s on the same side of the Cause and partly it’s because they’re starstruck by him. When their professional interest in exposing abuses of power aligns with their political interest in promoting liberalism and its standard bearers, they’re far more formidable than when those interests are at cross purposes. That’s what it means to be in the tank.

Two: Stevens just came out with an op-ed running through the familiar post-election verse-chorus-verse about how the GOP’s problems can’t be attributed to any one factor but require a total yadda yadda yadda. When you’re making that argument, obviously you want to do what you can to downplay the effects of media bias on Republican chances. Otherwise, the energy to undertake needed reforms will be channeled into carping about the press...

Romney defended Obama for his lack of documentation, too;
when he was not directing his team to attack the family
of Gov. Palin.

Mr.RomneyCARE is truly the fountainhead of the GOPe.

You’d think the morons would have been prepared for the media onslaught against them, just four short years after the media turned on a dime against their darling “maverick,” John McCain.

If only I were as brilliant in business as Romney was clueless in politics, I wouldn’t have to fret about my future in the ObamaNation....

Maybe the GOPe can get their next useless RINO elected if they hire a former Democrat campaign consultant...

Pat Caddell called it. Do you believe it yet?

Pat Caddell slams the media: They have become an “enemy of the people” Sept. 29, 2012(video 26:00)

Emotional Pat Caddell on the MSM ignoring Benghazi: “These people have no honor!” Oct. 27, 2012 (video at link 4:06)

The Media are enemies of the people!

Right on. But at what point—if ever—will these brain dead “Republicans” see the “light.”

Don’t. It hurts.

Instead, accept that by supporting people like this (voting for their employers) you get more of it. ‘s simple math that an absurd number of ‘conservatives’ refuse to admit.

Sure, it makes them look like fools, but they cling bitterly to failed ideas and liberal candidates thinking they will get religion and govern conservatively...REAL SOON NOW!

Simple fact: With elections as in govt. economics, you get more of the things you subsidize.

Amazing isn’t it Windy? But it won’r make a fart in a whirlwind’s difference. Before the thread ends there will be posters claiming that it’s OK because Obama was much worse.

Kinda like dying of a heart attack or Ebola...Yer kinda dead either way so, and I use the phrase literally, What difference does it make?

I think people really believe there is still a functional difference between the Dems and GOP. If there is it;s that the dems call the shots while the GOP just follows orders.

Worked out real well in Nuremberg I suppose...

Mitt Romney’s chief strategist, Stuart Stevens, exhibits the same kind of denial that so much of this nation does in regards to Zer0.

In another post, I read about this thing called The Knockout Game. It is where you pick someone completely off guard and without warning deliver a punch so hard that it knocks the person out cold. This is what Zer0 is doing to America. We are being punched out so hard that people do not even realize it has happened to them. All they feel is that numbing place where they were hit. They do not know how it happened and have no clue who did it. When they are told Zer0 threw the punch, they don’t believe it. They say, “That skinny little guy?” They are in denial as wham! Bam! Obama! Obama is playing the Knockout Game.

Anytime I hear a republican say something nice about oboma I want to vomit. Like when Romney use to say that obozo is a very nice man. Or when dumbass O’Reilly says that he thinks that oboma is a decent man....huh?????? O’Reilly continues to cover his azz where oboma is concerned, yet he can be a fighter for causes he believes in. Yet, when I hear him say such things, I see him as weak and afraid for himself. Romney was playing by Emily Post rules again the Socialist-Democrats. Romney did get his jabs in against oboma, but he was inconsistant in doing so...he didn't come across as a man who would not take any BS from oboma, such as Conservative Ted Cruz, who does speak out sharply against oboma and is articulate and not afraid, and someone definitely to watch.

Republicans and Conservatives had better learn how to fight and how to turn the left’s strategy AGAINST them..check out Saul Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals, the left’s handbook on how to destroy you and me, and lean to apply these very same rules against THEM by any means possible. It worked in Albany, NY recently...check out Rules of Radicals on google, make copies of the Rules and pass them on. And start working smart like the left does.

Um... Advice from a LOSER... no. We lost because the Left cheats, lies and steals elections. There has been a lot of evidence to support that claim and I stand by it. Normally I would suggest we look at the winning strategy, but I simply cannot support utter depravity. I guess it will be one of those lost the battle, but won the war epics. After seven years of declining living standards, there is no great awakening. I agree that many are hyper- insulated from the economy by being either poor and having unlimited access to everything, or being a part of the corporate welfare state. The middle class needs a champion. This is the only game- changer left. Call out the Harvard ruling class and ask them, how could you possibly legislate on behalf of working people since you have zero experience? Call out the bankers, the corporate cronies and say no more.
Remind working Americans they have sacrificed far more than three percent. More like twenty five percent, at least. Ask the government to sacrifice their fair share.
Sarah could do this, but it costs her family too much. She could master- mind it though.

#19 I don't see her reasons changing any time soon based on that. Certainly not for 2016, but who knows what will be left of the country by then?
