Jeb-ageddon
Breitbart ^ | March 10, 2013 | John Hayward

Posted on 03/10/2013 11:32:30 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

After a week of Rand Paul dominating the news, and rocking the Obama Administration back on its heels, what we clearly needed on Sunday was six shows filled with Jeb Bush launching a long-shot four-year quest for the White House by explaining why he disagrees with the book on immigration reform he just published.

The scheduling is probably a tribute to the aggressiveness of Bush's literary publicists and political team, but the net effect is to defuse the momentum from Paul's filibuster, which stood on the verge of crushing Sunday show producers' favorite Republican, John McCain, into the pavement of irrelevancy. This would have been a very bad weekend to juxtapose Rand and his young conservative colleagues wondering why Team Obama is so bizarrely insistent on reserving the option of drone-dusting American citizens on U.S. soil without due processes, juxtaposed with McCain rambling on about wacko birds. Mission accomplished.

As for Jeb, I confess to deeply mixed feelings about his presidential possibilities. I think the conventional wisdom that he can't win because he's named "Bush" is lazy. It might be an obstacle, but his name may also have asset value, particularly among Americans wistful for the Good Old Days before Obama malaise set in. Seriously, if Jeb runs an otherwise superb campaign, and especially if he's running against someone named "Clinton," are we really supposed to assume that a terminal mass of voters will insist on dismissing him out of hand? Either he'll get past his name in the early stages of the primary, or he won't. Classifying this challenge as impossible seems as silly as saying that it would be effortless....

To: who knows what evil?

The democrats will choose the weakest GOP candidate...

Exactly, we need ALL primaries closed. When hannity’s hillary express got rid of the hildebeast, that opened the door for the present loser.

Never understood the logic behind open primaries.

Mission accomplished.

Not!

The Paul filibuster resonated on social media -- Facebook and Twitter.

Typical Facebookers and Twitterers probably have not watched a Sunday morning news talk program ever -- except possibly by accident, if the TV happened to be on when they woke up and stumbled to the bathroom to pee.

Granted, the compliant media only gave lip service with some video of the Paul filibuster, but the Sunday morning talks programs have a consistent viewership and that viewership for the most popular one is around 3 million. Viewership of the others probably includes a good percentage of those same 3 million.

The impact of the mission accomplished on the Sunday morning talk circuit is light, at best.

I overslept and missed Bush on the talkies.

Did he flip or did he flop?

[Of course, I couldn’t have bothered to watch him anyway, even if I hadn’t overslept. I have enough Bush fatigue from the last one to last the remainder of this century.]

And the scheduling needs to be revised.

In the 2012 cycle, I was throwing mud at all the candidates, as the new leaders, one by one, fell into oblivion. Some posters asked me who I was supporting. I responded that it didn't matter. My state primary was held so late in the spring that the race would be decided (as it was in 2008) long beforehand. It was. So any endorsement I would have made would have been irrelevant.

There should be maybe 4 SuperTuesdays. To make it easier on the candidates, Primary 1 would be all states with capitols in the Eastern time zone. Maybe 2-3 weeks later to give candidates time to campaign, Primary 2 in the Central time zone states, etc.

Or some similar configuration.

Dr Zero could certainly do better than give Jebbie ANY of his time.

No. Jeb is entirely too much of a RINO.

No more milquetoast, insider selected a&&holes.

What really struck me as ill advised was Hayward’s dismissal of Bush fatigue, etc, as “a lazy” reason not to support him. Actually, unless we secretly lust for a royalty in this country, Bush-clinton fatigue is a DAMNED good reason not to support either of them....

Sounds like a plan!

All I know is, until Iowa and New Hampshire become irrelevant, we’ll keep repeating the same crapola every 4 years.

Jeb Bush has been reported over ABC radio news to encourage the bi-partisan (Vichy colaboration)talks initiated by Obama McCain/Lindsey. The former Florida governor has been reported as stating Obama is being “sincere”.

It's not so unusual for all the members of one party to endorse their President. ;)

“No. Jeb is entirely too much of a RINO.”

Jeb isn’t a RINO. He is a Republican...just like Boehnor, McCain, Graham, Rove, the GOP leadership, and all the House members who were to spineless to vote out Boehnor, but all too willing to fund Obamacare.

This is the party...and it’s not in name only.

Precisely. "RINO" is a meaningless term, as far as I'm concerned. "CINO" is more accurate.

Interesting point:

Hayward: "Karl, you know what I think?

Rove: "Hayward, when I want your opinion, I'll give it to you."

You may be onto something....

The sooner we acknowledge the reality of the situation, which is that conservatives have no place in the GOP, the sooner we will figure out a solution.

Obamacare is the law until there’s a Republican majority in both houses and the White House. The RINOs are those who didn’t show up in November.

I don’t want to put words in your mouth, but it sounds like you are supportive of funding Obamacare?? You must be a true Republican. Maybe RINO is in fact a compliment now. Most conservatives don’t want any association with turds like Boehnor.

Dear Jeb Bush,

Go away.

Sincerely,
