O’Reilly & Hume Pick Sides In Battle Between ‘Tea Party’ Palin And ‘Moderate’ Rove On Fox News
Mediaite ^ | March 18, 2013 | Matt Wilstein

Bill O’Reilly took on the brewing war between Sarah Palin and Karl Rove after Palin called out Rove during her CPAC speech Saturday and he hit back at her on Fox News Sunday. Brit Hume joined O’Reilly to try to figure out what this latest bout of infighting means for the Republican Party.

O’Reilly asked Hume, appearing from Miami, Florida in a salmon-colored sweater, if he was wearing material from Hillary Clinton‘s pantsuit before launching into the substance of the segment. Hume insisted that the skirmish between Palin and Rove has little to do with their actual political “ideas,” noting that they don’t differ much on policy, and everything to do with their personal styles.

Asked by O’Reilly whether Palin was trying to paint Rove as a moderate “RINO” figure, Hume took a shot at Palin, saying that “despite having bailed out of public office” she “still has a following in the Republican Party” but indicated that her opinions should not be be taken too seriously be anyone.

Ultimately, O’Reilly and Hume appeared to side with Rove and his desire to draft more moderate Republican candidates......

O’Reilly has always expressed disdain for Sarah Palin. Somehow he has the impression that he is better than “the little people.” Conservatives should stop watching his show...in fact, all Fox News shows for a while. Maybe those millions of “little people” would suddenly become important to these blow-hards.

If I have to pick between Rove and Palin I don’t even hesitate.

In that particular pick I am 100% Palin.

I wonder if Palin went underground for some time, who’d generate any sort of anything within the GOP? Is anyone interested in investing time or money on the next lemon they prop up in ‘16? Chris Crusty? Jebba? *crickets*

“Conservatives should stop watching his show...in fact, all Fox News shows for a while. “

Fox News is simply entertainment to try to fill a niche. Murdoch is a liberal. Look at the garbage that Fox, (not Fox News), programs. Murdoch would air dancing monkeys if it made him money.

O’Reilly has NEVER been a conservative. He has said so any number of times. He calls himself independent. I think he’s a fiscal budget balancer and a social shape shifter. I think he just might be a pro-lifer, though.

At Fox News they were so far in the tank for Mitt Romney that when Mitt said water, they said carry.

The lot of the ladies are all pro-abortion, pro-same sex marriage, pro-homosexual behavior, pro-homosexual adoption, etc., etc.

I think Palin was the only conservative female that’s ever been allowed inside the place.

Sounds like those standing ovations she got are making some people nervous.

Wonder if FOX is starting to think it may have bought a *pig in a poke* with Rove?

Brit wore out his Romney knee pads on day one and has exhibited some very non conservative/rino-esque views since his retirement and before. Besides, he looks like a bassett hound and that’s all I think about when I watch him.

Politically O’Reilly is dumb as a bag o’hammers.
He sides with whomever “comes on his show” thus explaining his butt kissing for the Halfrican in 2008.
He is good with outing dastardly judges, however, and promoting efforts against perps.. like Jessica’s Law.

Fox News is the biggest bore now. I watch British mysteries on Netflix instead...helping to soothe my Downton Abbey withdrawal pains.

In a related event, I saw an ad for tonight’s The Actor’s Studio with Tina Fey as the guest. She, of course was making fun of SP by imitating her saying, “I don’t like gay marriage because the Bible says it’s icky.”

We HAVE to get a comedy show going that Alinkskys the left. Have an actor playing zero who golfs constantly, while in the bathtub for example. Biden is a laugh a minute himself! The left has the Tonight Show, the Late Show and every other show in which to promote themselves making fun of conservatives. Why don’t we have any comedies that make fun of leftists? There’s plenty of ammunition!

I'll see your stop watching all Fox News shows for a while and raise you a stop watching all cable/satellite news channels from 2011 on.

Thanks; I learned about Herring just recently here on FR.

No longer have cable TV or satellite. Plan to watch less over-the-air news than I do now: about 15 minutes max per day. Haven’t watched any CBSNBCABC network news regularly since before Katie Curerack was on CBS Evening News. Catch the TV news locally for the first 6 or 7 minutes twice a day then it’s turned off. Life is sweeter around this household now. Nothing to learn on cable TV news unless one is studying how to be a blond and shapely jabberer and I stopped trying decades ago.
