Do conservatives even want to win? (Grab a bucket)
Yahoo! News / The Week ^ | March 25, 2013 | Joe Gandelman

Karl Rove and Reince Priebus clearly do. And then there's Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin... Is it time to remake the old movie Death Wish — this time starring conservative Republicans who seem to think polls are wrong and that America really loves them and hates Barack Obama?

This is not a joke. Whether conservatives even want to win is a serious question in light of the reaction to the Republican National Committee's brutally honest "autopsy" on why the party lost the 2012 presidential election. The RNC concluded that the party should change such things as the number of primaries, its image among minority voters, its positions on immigration reform, its ground game — and become less "scary" to voters. It all amounts to this: At least look more moderate. But "moderate" remains one of the filthiest words in the Republican Party, and the feeling is kinda mutual: Moderates voted for Obama in droves.

Indeed, many conservatives are rejecting the RNC's tough-love report faster than Michele Bachmann running away from a reporter. And it makes you wonder: What are they thinking?

The GOP is divided into two factions symbolized by what New York's Dan Amira calls "the world's worst investor, Karl Rove, and the world's worst vice-presidential candidate, Sarah Palin." Rove, an establishment figure and Bush family stalwart, wants to win. Palin, darling of the Tea Party, the grassroots, and talk-show fans, wants purity — which she believes will bring victory.

It's déjà vu all over again: The Goldwater Republicans in 1964 and the McGovern Democrats in 1972. Both groups later tempered their rough edges and became more influential in their parties. But first they clung to extreme platforms far outside the mainstream of American politics. And they lost badly........

Don’t expect salvation from politics. I see a bigger picture.

I dunno, cannot tell anymore.

On one hand we like Sarah, and several promising rising conservatives.

On the other, we continue to send American business to our biggest rising adversary.

Wake up Americans. We must stop building up China. Bring back US industry, and compete.

Now.

Believe it or not, US manufacturing has never been bigger, it’s just that we’ve automated so much that many fewer human beings are needed as workers than in 1955.

Absolutely no offense, but I don’t buy that at all.

China is taking our place.

And they’re doing so, while taking our jobs.

Time to turn around, and start doing it right back. For 30 years now we have been exporting American jobs.

Stop it now.

I wish Boener and the Republicans would go ahead and force default. We need to get this over with. The longer it goes on the worse it will be. Economically, the nation is already ruined. We can’t pay back the money we owe and we can’t continue spending borrowed money. The regulations in place restrict economic growth, so revenue is handicapped to tax rates.....

We are screwed. The horse left the barn. Like many corporations, our fate is sealed. We’re just going to continue walking to the end of this plank.

We have 50% dependent on government in some form (by employ or by entitlement) and/or not paying taxes. There are only about 40% of truly economically independent Americans left. How do you convince people to vote themselves an economic demotion?

Joe, Rove a Priebus aren’t conservatives! They are RINOS. Conservatives DO want to win. RINO’s are just Democrat lite.

Right, Bob Scum couldn't tell a political situation if his life depended on it.

Rush and Sarah are living in his head rent free!

And it is quite roomy!

real proper true conservatives want to win and work to win as opposed to the half baked elitist establishemt which thinks that us the base should just get in line and follow the likes of Rove while they appear more like the Dem party and push communist agendas like homosexuality and then even the idiots let in non republicans like Paul to spout their crap telling us we have to change\\\

Sarah, Cruz, Lee, Col West, Michelle Bachmann and seeing as I mentioned her then yes she walked away due to an idiot so caleld journalist who thinks asking about dog walkers is more important than asking about Libya to the admin.

They and others are the future regardless of how the media portarys them and if they are portaryed in a bad manner then it;s because the left is running afriad of them

Many “conservatives” want to be moderate and call it the conservative thing to do.

Proof? Romney supporters on conservative sites. They want the ‘win’ but not what it takes to win with a conservative. They trash Palin and sided with the GOP over the Akin fiasco.

I believe China has now surpassed America and is the world’s biggest exporter.

Let me say that once more, and make the point. China currently is the world’s biggest exporter.

We are the world’s biggest importer.

At current trends, that will also collapse by the 2016 election.

We must reverse course, now.

here is the mistake the GOP make, they only ever talk about taxes , debt and fiscal issues and then ignore social issues like what is going on right now.

If the GOP want to push a communist agenda like homo marriage and ignore all other aspects of life , drugs , sex, no age of consent and how other live then they will always lose and might as well be a liberal tarian or a far left loon.

Dont have to mention religion but mention what is right and how things do work for children

Obama is burdening U.S. businesses with too many regulations , taxes ,EPA , FDA, Obmacare etc.

The result it U.S. living off of just debt

16 trillion $ in just federal government debt

56 trillion $ in Total debt including federal gov debt and that doesn't include mortgages. who thinks this won't lead to collapse? If the U.S. was really producing so much then why do we need to borrow so many trillion of $ . if you needed to borrow so much and you were a small business would you be doing so hot?

The news media lies and demonizes Republicans and Palin . we are living in the matrix created by the liberal/socialist news media
