Connecticut Governor Willing to Trade Jobs and Revenue for Gun Control
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | April 8, 2013 | AWR Hawkins

On April 4, Connecticut Governor Dannel P. Malloy signed 139 pages of gun control legislation into law, effectively telling the $1.7 billion gun industry that has called his state home for more than a century they are no longer welcome.

Speaking for Colt Manufacturing, which has been in Connecticut for 175 years, president and CEO Dennis Veilleux said, "At some point, if you can't sell your product then you can't run your business... You need customers to buy your products to stay in business."

Other prominent Connecticut-based gun companies include Mossberg, Ruger, and Stag Arms, all of which are being wooed to pull up stakes and move to gun-friendly states.

In addition to the annual $1.7 billion in revenue that Connecticut would lose if these companies left the state, they would also take approximately 3,000 jobs they provide for Connecticut citizens with them as well....

We sure do appreciate all those jobs, taxes and economic activity down here. Maybe everybody in Connecticut can start a blog and make money on Google adsense.

Who needs to put food on the table when you can get by just as well by simply feeling morally superior?

That’s alright — take their guns AND jobs away.

Go hungry and grow destitute but don’t come to Texas and bitch, bitch, bitch.

I would be very surprised if any of the gun manufacturers move out. It would cost them a ton to pick up and move lock, stock and barrel. Probably way too much to make any such move viable. None of the four are near as small as say, Magpul with only about 150 employees. These guys are huge. Nope, I think they will be staying. I think the Connecticut government took that into consideration when they voted on theses laws.

That said, I hope to hell all four pull up and move to a friendlier state.

Colt, not sure. Stag seems much more likely to move as they are smaller.

Oh hell, it’s been done by FAR larger companies. They’d get enough tax incentives and other bennies from a couple dozen other states that this will be a no-brainer.

Yeah.....they’ll move. Let the drooling Yankees rot in their own feces and get OUT.

“I would be very surprised if any of the gun manufacturers move out.”

If they do not abandon these fascist slave states, boycott them. There are lots of choices out there and most are equal in quality to the big boys.

The libtards do this all the time. Time for us to do it too. DO NOT FEED THE BEAST!

Not only will they move out - they’ll be rewarded for doing so. Gun buyers and patriots aren’t stupid, as the lame governor of Connecticut thinks.

MFR’s are “so” out of there!

Connecticut isn’t the only idiot state. Baretta is hauling ass from Maryland and taking 400 jobs with them.

We also got our gasoline taxes increased 83%, and same sex marriage.

Hope you all remember what an idiot O’Mally is when he makes his run for President.

For those who don’t have the pleasure of living in CT, I have some insight. Obama has visited several time, including twice during the campaign and twice for Sandy Hook. Malloy is up in 2014. In 2010 he only “won” by 6k votes, after two extra hours of voting in heavily Dem Bridgeport.

Myself and some others have the feeling Malloy is proving himself to Obama to get a nice WH job in 2014, and is simply using CT to do it. Therefore, he doesn’t care what mess he leaves behind. He had to use a ECert to pass this monstrosity, despite his clam that he had 70-90% support for it.

Colt is moving their Colt Competition operation from Oregon to Texas.

I am making no predictions, but I will be surprised if at least 1 of them does not move to Texas.

They will make more money here, have less hassle doing business, have better banks to work with, pay no State Income Tax. And Texans are die hard gun lovers.

Win/Win

Not just gun companies. Oregon is business unfriendly.
Our democrats are more communist than yours. Or maybe not, we just have more of them.

And to think, 150 years ago national exhibitions were held to honor the latest inventiveness of the gun manufacturers.

Liberals (er, progressives) generally are willing to die rather than give up being liberals, and they are happy to kill off every other human to keep it that way.
