Why In Godís Name Do the Gutless Wonder GOP Want to Cave On A Winning Issue Like Gun-Control?

BREAKING: Sources Report Senate Republicans Caving on Guns | RedState

Sources inside the Senate tell me that the Republican Conference is scared to death of the tactics of Senators Lee, Cruz and Paul – that it is supposedly putting them in a tough spot.

Several of the Republicans are using the Manchin-Toomey compromise plan as an excuse to cave on the gun filibuster. They claim that Senators Lee, Cruz, and Paul are running ahead of the conference in their insistence on a filibuster.

What they fail to see is that the cloture vote is the vote to stop the gun legislation from passage.

Several Republican Senators intend to vote against the filibuster, but then vote against the overall bill. This is too clever by half.....

Republicans are caving and thinking Reid is once again a “nice” guy. They are allowing themselves to be screwed and by extension, screw us.

I am sick to death of Republicans except for the ones actually trying to stop this.

Exactly. They still get the perks, don't have to deal with what they cave on, and get to go to all the DC parties. Great work if you can find it..

I, too, am done with the R party, done with politicians, and done with the socialist media.

They may think that they rule me because I live in the US. They are mistaken. They do not rule me, nor do they tell me how to live my life, flush my toilet, build on my property, or possess the firearms of my choice. We will all be fine as long as they stay the hell away from me.

Our public servants are not our rulers, and it’s time they were reminded.

They’ve probably been McConnel’d. Has anyone mentioned how easy it easy it is to hack computers and cell phones and activate their microphone? Planting ‘bugs’ is old school. I heard today one of McConnell aides on radio saying how FBI searched their offices, and I’m thinking, For WHAT? Put a rootkit on anyone’s phone and computer and you can record anyone within earshot.

I agree. Those outside of the Constitution have no authority over us.

Sure, they can jail us, tax us, persecute us in many ways. They have the POWER to do that - they are drunk with it.

They revel in what they perceive as our fear of them - because they fear us. They NEED us to fear them. WE are the producers, without us, they would have to see what they are.

Its about time we understood, and acted on this simple, rightful truth.

Because a third party arose early in the 20th century and gradually took over the Republican party.

I am thinking of becoming a futilitarian as this bleak and languorous mood ever so slowly but steadily creeps into my perception of reality.

In years past, I have given thousands of dollars to the GOP and Republicans, but the RNC mailing that I got today went into the shredder without a glance.

"Why In God’s Name Do the Gutless Wonder GOP Want to Cave On A Winning Issue Like Gun-Control?"

Pssst...

Republicans aren't worried about their Oath of Office (Defending and upholding that faded old parchment...) All they are worried about is getting re-elected. And right now the idiots in charge think gun control is a winning issue.

If the idiots in charge thought mandatory anal exams using red hot curling irons was a winning issue they would be for that.

They don't care about their Oath, it doesn't even register on their "inside-the-beltway-group-think" radar.

“slaughtered kids” like abortion? Oh no, the GOP would never highlight the Dems hypocrisy there, no..

No, and it wouldn't do any good any how... problem is the Right isn't taking abortion seriously. We throw principled, pro-life candidates like Akers and Muordoch under the bus, killers of their unborn children go on book tours professing "guilt" about their aborted babies, but getting attention and $$ for telling the tale... I brought this up recently with a "pro choice" gal I know and she just stared at me and said "so, I think I commit murder every mentrual cycle?", and just went on about oppression of women. In another thread people are discussing being "pressured" into aborting fetuses that may (or may not!) have defects... Really, where are people's moral spine?
