President Barack Obama called Sen. Marco Rubio a positive force in the immigration debate and is reasonably confident that an immigration deal will be reached, he said in a wide-ranging exclusive interview with NBCs Today show.
I think that he has been a very positive force, he said of Rubio (R-Fla.), who is a member of the Senates bipartisan immigration reform team.
Speaking with Savannah Guthrie from the White House, Obama continued, As have all the senators whove been involved. And my hope is not only that we end up with an immigration bill that shows that were a nation of laws and a nation of citizens, that helps our economic growth, that helps us attract incredible talent to our shores. But I also hope that it kinda restarts muscle memory in Congress for getting bipartisan legislation done.
In an interview airing Wednesday, Obama expressed optimism about the future of immigration reform.
You know what? Im actually reasonably confident on this one, Obama told Guthrie regarding an immigration reform deal.....

They get to Washington and discover where the money is.
Screw rubio. Turncoat.
Rubio is a useful idiot, nothing more.
“Not Amnesty” my foot. After this, he can only go left. McCain-Graham-Rubio gang.
The kiss of death.
with endorsements like that...... he can kiss his presidential aspirations goodbye
(regardless of how you or I view the immigration issue)
Obama, Christie and Rubio need to get a room for their threesome.
TWO QUESTIONS ON AMNESTY
(1) When is the treatment of American citizens in Mexico and their rights vs US treatment of Mexicans going to be an issue when we discuss amnesty ?
This is a question: Should Mexican citizens when in the US be given the same rights American citizens are given while in Mexico? This has yet to appear on any US legislator’s questionaire from either chamber....ASK YOUR FEDERAL LEGISLATORS WHY IT HASN’T
(2) What makes it necessary for US to subjugate our sovereignty because of available cheap labor ? While we encourage wholesale abortion and the Godless Demo-Coms socialists encourage population control as well. Then complain the US is not reproducing enough population to replace its aging supply of workers to keep their welfare ponzie schemes supplied with tax money and keep the system working.
Ever hear of reciprocal aggrements ? These are arranged to protect the rights of American citizens working or living in other countries.
Why is it when it comes to citizens of other countries we are required to offer them the same privledges as we do to US citizens? But when it comes to US citizens who get in trouble or attempt to do business in other countries they do not get the same treatment their citizens get.
Americans cant own coast land in Mexico. And get no title to it elsewhere. If they run out of cash theyll get unceremoniously sent back or put in jail untill some relative comes up with the fresh. Thats just for starters as for granting them voting privledges yea lets give Mexican citizens that right when American citizens vote in their elections .
My first thought, as well.
Bath-House Barry’s “touch”.
Rubio will now shrivel up, turn brown and blow away...
Not news to us. Rubio is no Conservative! I’ll never vote for him again.
“Rubio can not ask for a better endorsement. Bet he’s cringing right now, after Obamas support.”
It’s obama’s version of Clinton’s “nice tie” statement.
Yeh Marco this is going to be great for your 2016 presidential aspirations. On the Democratic ticket.
RUN RUN FAST from Marco Rubio if Hussein is complimenting him!!
Do they both belong to Soros?
can’t one hispanic congressman be for what is right regarding immigration? dammit.
