Harry Reid: Tea Partiers Are Non-Violent ‘Anarchists’ Who Don’t Believe in Any Form of Government

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) on Tuesday equated the Tea Party to a non-violent “anarchist” group because, in his mind, Tea Partiers don’t believe in any form of government. He was speaking about the sequester and other financial issues on the Senate floor.

“We have a situation where this country has been driven by the Tea Party for the last number of years,” Reid said. “When I was in school, I studied government and I learned about the anarchists. Now, they were different than the Tea Party because they were violent. But they were anarchists because they did not believe in government in any level and they acknowledged it. The Tea Party kind of hides that.”(continued)

Well, you Democrats and your whiney wiener of a president certainly are screwing up the country, Dingy Harry. Would that the TEA Partiers were in charge!

I see what you did, Harold. You determined the message - that the Tea Party are anarchists - and, ended any discussion by telling the low information voter that the Tea Party denies this "FACT" (in your world). Thus, people who identify with the Tea Party will not be able to deny your claim. You, sir, are a B@ST@RD!

Thanks, Harry, for admitting that the Tea Party is non-violent.

However, as an anarcho-capitalist myself, I can authoritatively say that most members of the Tea Party are decidedly not any sort of anarchists. Even the majority of libertarians are minarchists, not anarchists.

Anarchist, as a named cause, have laid claim to the moniker.

Just as the classic liberal has been completely perverted.

If you want to call it “minarchist” that’s fine, however the fundamental basis for conservatism today is anarchy with guardrails.

The guardrails are the US Constitution.

The Tea Party just wants to be left alone. We want to be free from Gov’t, which can be interpreted as anarchy.

The difference of course is that the anarchist from the 1960’s and 70’s, can only define what they are against, not what they are for.

As a Tea party member, I can tell you what I am for.

This is a trailer for the movie “The Anarchist Cookbook”

Wild movie, and still one of my favorites.

The armed services will side with us.....they couldn’t have it better.....they do what they want, the buy what they want, they are not going to throw over the government for anyone.....

It’s important to keep in mind that the dollars the government loves to piss away, would have no value if the country comes unglued....the dollar rests on we Americans and what we do

Why, pray tell, would Republicans feel the need to stand up for Americans much less the Tea Party?

We have absolutely nothing in common.

Harry Reid is a Balloon Head in Chief acolyte who wants the United States to be a failed nation...the sooner the better.

Interesting that he’s calling us non violent now. I wonder what brought that on?

Reid knows its tea party types that pay the bills. I think he was trying to throw us a bone or something, guess he still thinks we’re stupid as well.

Personally, I strongly and emphatically believe that a state with a monopoly on military, judicial and legislative power has no right to exist, and that it can only exist by means of violating the rights of individuals. In fact, that’s the reason people want such states to exist, so that they can violate the rights of individuals with impunity.

Do you really think that most members of the Tea Party would agree with the above? I don’t.

No, to be honest, I think most people, including Tea party folks are perfectly happy with Gov’t control over certain aspects of their life.

So, in that respect, I agree with you.

Give me the structure that includes, borders, equal application of the law, including both written and verbal contracts and property rights.

Dear Hairy,

Tea Partiers want government to be a positive force.
Not a negative force.

We want government programs that actually solve problems.
Not create problems.

And we want to rid DC of all graft and corruption.
Not celebrate graft and corruption.

In other words, we want people like Hairy Reid removed from government.

What a coincidence.
