Sarah Palin reared her head in American airspace this weekend.
As the countrys media, entertainment and political elite gathered in Washington, D.C., for the annual roast that is the White House Correspondents Dinner, Palin could not resist lobbing darts from afar.
Yuk it up media and pols, she tweeted. While America is buried in taxes and a fight for our rights, the permanent political class in DC dresses up and has a prom to make fun of themselves. No need for that, we get the real joke.
She panned the event again in a second tweet: That #WHCD was pathetic. The rest of America is out there working our asses off while these DC assclowns thrown themselves a #nerdprom.
Palin can take any position she wants on the wisdom of media and pols yukking it up on their night off. (I thought the president was pretty funny, especially his joke about not being the strapping young Muslim socialist that I used to be. Palin, who once charmed the country with her joke about hockey moms and pitbulls, now seems oblivious to the power of the self-deprecating joke.)
Still, she is not the only critic of the annual event; plenty of people think the evening is proof that Washingtons watchdogs are too cozy with its power players. (And maybe its only of minor interest that her own daughter, Bristol, was a dinner guest in 2011, when the economy was in far worse shape than it is now.)
But when it comes to evaluating the work habits of others, Palin has forfeited the moral high ground....

Whatta buncha fairies.
Gee, wonder which side the LA Slimes will take?
Pray for America to Wake Up
Okay, I’ll bite. What “vulgar” thing was she supposed to have tweeted.
You can't make this stuff up.
Nothing she says constitutes “vulgar” in my opinion.
There’s no vulgar language. There’s no vulgar concepts.
...she tells the truth
Is the LA Slimes EVER going to release that Rashid Khalidi tape or am I going to have to wait til I live to be 100 to ever see it
I used to read the LA Times daily without fail.
Now I only read them if someone at FR decides to post an excerpt.
In the mean time she worships the ground that the vulgar Clintons walk on.
The only thing “vulgar” here is the fact that this unknown clown and proven airhead, Robin Abcarian, can get published in a newspaper.
Now THAT’S vulgar and obscene.
I think they’re taking issue with the term ‘assclown’. I thought it fit just right. I suspect that was the real crime here.
I wonder if the Times called David Letterman ‘vulgar’ when he joked about Sarah Palen’s daughter being raped by Alex Rodriquez in Yankee Stadium.
Either that or she crawls along on her knee pads in front of Slick Willie.
Since when did the L.A. Times ever believe Sarah Palin held “the moral high ground”?
Fourth paragraph above.
Don’t forget to take the poll! Is she still relevant?
Yes 21% No 79%
It was nothing, really:
“Yuk it up media and pols,”
“While America is buried in taxes and a fight for our rights, the permanent political class in DC dresses up and has a prom to make fun of themselves. No need for that, we get the real joke.”
“That #WHCD was pathetic. The rest of America is out there working our asses off while these DC assclowns thrown themselves a #nerdprom.”
I hear katty meows. And, I did not take the strapping socialist Muslim joke as a joke. I think Shakespeare had it right. Many a truth is spoken in jest. I thought it was another example of Obama’s spectacular tin ear; like saying God bless you to Planned Parenthood. Amazing.
Please, please, conservatives who will sit out the election if your conservative candidate doesn’t get elected; save us. A president Dole, McCain or Romney would at least be American and possibly patriotic. At least they wouldn’t demand a military ROI of “compassionate” risk taking.
I say I love her and agree with her 85%
