Remember all the build-up around the Facebook IPO? Investors wondered when it would happen and how they could get in on it. People were scrambling to be part of the action. Then, it happened, and it flopped. Marco Rubio is fast turning into the Facebook IPO of the United States Senate. There was hype, there was hope, there was sizzle but theres been no steak.
In his first year in the Senate, Marco Rubio did what exactly? He was sworn in on Jan. 3, 2011, and didnt even deliver his first Senate floor speech until June 14. Conversely, Rand Paul and Mike Lee joined the Senate on the same day, hit the ground running and havent stopped running since.
Not everyone has to be Paul or Lee, and we can argue their success (but not their impact). But as a senator, Marco Rubio hasnt lived up to half the hype. The proclaimed savior of the conservative movement is in the midst of selling it out for a handful of empty promises and feel-good platitudes.
The face for the Gang of 8 senators on comprehensive immigration reform has done more spinning than a top lately and seems dangerously unfamiliar with the legislation. He has said areas of the bill, written by Democrats led by Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., needs improvement, but almost nothing hes said about it is accurate....

The TEA Party made record gains in Republican races in 2010, coast to coast, in spite of a very few losses caused by the Rove critters.
We need that kind of fight EVERY election cycle
That makes it all the more aggravating. These willful fools say with a straight face it can’t be done when a rag tag group of nonconnected people DID IT ALREADY.
The Tea party never once had coordination outside a telephone and email...nothing ironclad. Just comments and ideas between them...which they didn’t all work toward anyway. There is or was no central plan. And they still had a history making win.
And we are to believe it CAN’T be done if they WERE organized?
We don’t need a Billion dollars. We don’t need conferences for 1000 aides in Guam (it might capsize!)
We need a plan based on constitutional P R I N C I P L E S and let the psuedocons on the net scream. Then just freaking do it. It’s not like we all are blind to what we want. We just need to keep the GOP from infiltrating it.
There has been abuse of power in this administration like this country has never experienced, not even FDR.
Sure. But King George acted just a bit more intrusively and look what resulted? If free people want to stay free, they have to get over fear of losing material things and Government abuse. Or they lose it all. We learned that lesson once. Hopefully we remember before history fully repeats.
Once you’re “in” with the “In Crowd” you don’t need to DO anything!
“History doesn’t repeat itself, but it does rhyme”. Mark Twain.
The Republican Party has been the Rockefeller Party for many years with occasional aberrations, most notably Goldwater and Reagan.Nothing useful can be done for the country by continuing to remain the Republican Party or by voting for its candidates as lesser evils. At this point an evil is an evil politically. None is lesser. A 10 degree change in direction of 1% of the government is not even that 1% better than plowing straight ahead. A complete 180 is required and is probably not possible.
I agree...
