Certain norms have held together America's legislative governance for nearly a century. They're now being destroyed.
Late in August, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, traveled to a private residence in Dublin, N.H., to headline a fundraiser for the state Republican Party. Cruzs spiel lasted about an hour, and was packed with the mix of straw men and inflammatory nonsense weve come to expect out of the junior senator from Texas.
But before he really got into it, he took a moment to say a few nice words about his GOP colleague from the state, who was also in attendance.
Kelly Ayotte is a rock star, Cruz said. Let me tell you, your senator is as tough as granite. There is no stronger advocate of the men and women in our military in the U.S. Senate than is Kelly Ayotte, and there is no one tougher going to get the truth about what happened in Benghazi than Kelly Ayotte.
Insincere camaraderie is a fact of life thats been with us since the Senate invented it in 1804, so in most senses Cruz remarks arent a big surprise. But they belie an invisible, and real, division between Cruzs wing of the party and the core of the Senate GOP that Ayotte (whos no objective persons example of a RINO) represented that night.
Cruz is a Republican, and in that capacity, serves as a vice chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, whose job it is to maximize GOP representation in the Senate. But hes also closely aligned with outside organizations like Heritage Action, and the Senate Conservatives Fund groups that support and fund primary challenges against Republicans in good standing and otherwise work against official party goals....

Salon attempts to make Cruz’s conservative position
an alleged ‘problem’.
But it is not.
It is a refreshing change that may save the USA.
When libtards are screeching, you know you are getting through.
I would argue that Obama is the one who is destabilizing the government.
And as rush always says, the left will always tell you who they fear the most. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK CRUZ!

Am I allowed to say this ...?
Ted President !
The norm whose passing they mourn is a standing democrat majority.
Good, the gov’t needs to be destabilized.
Dissent is racist, sexist, and homophobic.
This writer did one good thing, gave us the term, “CRUZ EFFECT”. We already had, “CRUZ CONTROL”.
He thinks Cruz has destroyed the congress as it has been for many years, a give and take cooperation and now Cruz won’t fit the old mold and he’s screwing up the long precedent of “liberal legislation” (that’s my professional term) that has happened for years due to the two parties cooperating. Cooperation has always meant do it the Democrat way.
I have seen pictures and drawings of old when our first congresses had men who roared and shouted and stomped up and down AND CARED.
What we have now is tea and crumpets and well manicured men (always perfect hair) who guard every word so they are total vanilla in their speeches and don’t upset anyone.
Enter Ted Cruz WHO CARES what happens to this country and a few other men who have supported him. He gave them the guts to finally speak out.
If I were a senator, I would be as “bad” or worse than Cruz and the Democrats would hate me but they always have when I’ve worked in politics. How many of you were threatened with jail and charges filed against you with the Texas State Attorney General to remove you as Judge of The Early Voting Ballot Board? Why did Democrats want me removed so badly the DA filed those charges? Because I knew the Texas Election Code forwards and backwards and shut down/threw out all their illegal mail ballots.
I wouldn’t be able to help it as a senator - I’d probably need a body guard but by God, I’d find a way through law to get around Reid and his boss, Hussein. I think Cruz must be related to me some way.
It would be very difficult not to slap Graham and McCain every time I crossed paths with them. And I don’t care how crippled McCain is.
The LEFT’s fear of Cruz is palpable. Once again the LEFT will pick our candidate—but not the way they did in the last 3 elections.
what is it with the sudden use of the word “norms”? obama said the gassing of Syrians violated “norms” that is folking bullsheet. ‘Norms” is a very dangerous slippery slope. Either it violates the law or it doesn’t.
Now this dude is talking “norms” this is bullsheet
