Harvard study shows gun control doesn't save Lives

Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy has just released a study of the relative effects of stringent gun laws. They found that a country like Luxenbourg, which bans all guns has a murder rate that is 9 times higher than Germany, where there are 30,000 guns per 100,000 people. They also cited a study by the U.S.National Academy of Sciences, which studied 253 journal articles, 99 books, 43 government publications, and it failed to find one gun control initiative that worked.

In fact, in many cases it found that violence is very often lower, where guns are more readily available. The report points to a myth that guns are more easily obtained in the United States than in Europe. That is factually incorrect.

Whether a given area has a high crime rate has nothing to do with the level (or lack) of gun control. The only thing that drives crime is the number of available criminals.

Now that Haaaavaaaad has come out with this study, perhaps nutjobs like Nanny Bloomberg, Nancy Pelosi and Diane Feinstein will believe what conservatives have known from birth: killers would rather kill in a gun-free zone.

The crime rate in any area is directly proportional to the concentration of democrats in that area.

And Harvard actually let such inconvenient results become public? Maybe there is hope!

Harvard should do a study on Knife Control. It seems obvious to me that if everyone has a knife then there will be more murders using knives. Only if they are banned can we feel safe in our homes and businesses.

And forks can be killers too. Thank god for spoons. But then again aren’t they used as weapons in prisons? A spoon, a grinding wheel and ...

The Harvard study (Kates & Mauser) actually came out about a year ago. Glad it has gained some media attention. It is objective, comprehensive and conclusive. And it is available for reading online.

txrefugee @3: "Now that Haaaavaaaad has come out with this study, perhaps nutjobs like Nanny Bloomberg, Nancy Pelosi and Diane Feinstein will believe what conservatives have known from birth: killers would rather kill in a gun-free zone."

Oxygen-stealing traitors like Blomberg, Pelosi, Feinstein, don't care about the Constitution, much less the truth. They serve only the Lie.

Maybe Harvard can provide data supporting Sirius Lee's observation @5: "The crime rate in any area is directly proportional to the concentration of democrats in that area."

What this country needs is 'rat control, including the MSM and local media B&Bs.

Those of us who defend the 2nd Amendment need to be very careful with our facts.

And if you eliminate “black crime” statistics, America is one of the safest countries in the world
