Skip to comments.Could Obamacare add more Democrats to the voter rolls? Yup. (Just as planned)

Republicans have plenty of reasons to dislike Obamacare already, but they havent focused on one that could affect them in 2014 and beyond: anyone signing up for insurance under the Affordable Care Act will also have a chance to register to vote.
Before folks start accusing Democrats of engaging in a vast left-wing conspiracy, its worth noting this quirk stems from the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (better known as the Motor Voter law, because it allowed all Americans to register to vote while renewing their drivers license).
According to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services spokesman Brian Cook, applications in the insurance marketplace must include the offer of voter registration because the law requires states to offer voter registration [at] all offices that provide public assistance (including Medicaid applications). Because people applying on healthcare.gov could be eligible for either Medicaid or Marketplace coverage, we will be providing info on voter registration to people who request it.
Could this give Democrats a political advantage? Potentially, since they stand to benefit the most from a surge in voter registration among those who currently lack insurance. By more than a 2 to 1 ratio, uninsured Americans supported Barack Obama over Republican Mitt Romney in a Washington Post-Kaiser Family Foundation poll last summer (62 to 27 percent)....

40 million without insurance will now have it for free. This is better than an ObamaPhone. You can bet they’ll be dems.
They still have to pull it off without a train wreck. My understanding is they still do not have the necessary mega-software suite remotely ready, even after 3 years.
They are going to take PAPER APPLICATIONS ONLY “for now.”
This could be fun. Millions of apps from bogus persons, etc.
Not only will Obama and the Dems get everything they want (and more) in ObamaCare; they’ll also get amnesty for illegals, and Cap & Trade. All of this and more with the GOP-e’s blessing.
I knew we were finished the night Obama won the election. There is nothing left to save.
Yep. That’s where the $67 Million 0Care missing slush fund went. To pay off ALL pols who are supporting this monstrosity against the will of The People.
EVERY PERSON IN THE COUNTRY is required to sign up for this, which means Democrats will have a database, and fraudulent absentee ballot, for every person in the country. AS INTENDED....
But you have to factor in all the young lefty LIV’s who will be outraged that they can no longer NOT have health insurance without paying up. This is a substantial number of late 20ish to early 30ish kiddies.
the demographics of this country pretty much mean that the gop can only hope for white, hetero, Christian males as reliable voters.
if you are black, Hispanic, female, gay, jewish, the dems have promised you something. those groups look at the ballet and pull the lever for the guy with the d.
the only way I can think of to fix this is that all republicans run as dems. then, the acorn crowd would have to actually research that particular candidate. doubt it.
Motor Voter is our downfall. Our Dept of Motor Vehicles office (where you go to get a driver’s license) looks like the United Nations. It’s full of foreigners, most of whom I would bet are illegal, and every one of them gets registered to vote in addition to getting a driver’s license. Then we wonder why we lose election after election.
0bama’s HHS will use lots of “APPROVED” stamps before the 2014 midterm elections. After the election the stamps will be replaced by “DENIED” stamps.
With each passing day it becomes that much more difficult to take all the entitlements away. We’re in the midst of something that should be stopped.
Were in the midst of something that should be stopped.
Should be, but it won’t.
VA, Affordable Care Act and You
What is the Affordable Care Act?
The Affordable Care Act, also known as the health care law, was created to expand access to coverage, control health care costs and improve health care quality and care coordination. The health care law does not change VA health benefits or Veterans out-of-pocket costs.
Three things you should know:
1 VA wants all Veterans to receive health care that improves their health and well-being.
2 If you are enrolled in VA health care, you dont need to take additional steps to meet the health care law coverage standards. The health care law does not change VA health benefits or Veterans out-of-pocket costs.
3 If you are not enrolled in VA health care, you can apply at any time.
Veterans Enrolled in VA Health Care
The good news is that Veterans enrolled in VA health care programs have health coverage that meets the new health care laws standard. You do not have to take any additional steps to have health coverage. Read more if enrolled
Veterans Not Enrolled in VA Health Care
Veterans not currently enrolled in VA health care program can apply for enrollment at any time. Read more about enrolling
VA offers health care benefits for certain family members of Veterans through programs such as the Civilian Health and Medical Program of the Department of Veterans Affairs (CHAMPVA) and the Spina Bifida program. Read more about VA family programs
Your family members who are not enrolled in a VA health care program should use the Marketplace to get coverage.

It isn’t free...the rest of us suckers have to pay for it or go to jail.
I commented about this earlier. Republicans should seize the opportunity to require photo ID be issued at the time of application to vote.
That would shut it down for good.
And when unknown millions of illegal aliens are amnestied, the next Obama project, conservatives need not bother to vote in national elections.
You're right. The 2012 presidential election was our last chance. Even with Romney/Ryan. I know the hard core on FR won't agree.
“I needs to gets my obamacare.”
“Can I see your I.D., please?”
“Okay, fill this out. And you can print if you can’t write cursive.”
“Don’t be cursivin’ ats me!”
By the time they realize the crappy state of care they’ll be getting though, it will be too late!
