Bernie Goldberg to O’Reilly: Tea Partiers Are the Real RINOs in the GOP
Mediaite ^ | November 11, 2013 | Josh Feldman

Posted on 11/12/2013 12:10:28 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Bernard Goldberg joined Bill O’Reilly Monday night to address what he believes is a “potentially fatal split” in the Republican party’s immediate future. He said that if the tea party keeps rejecting anyone who isn’t basically Ted Cruz for the 2016 presidential nomination, the party’s going to be in some big trouble and invite in a strong Democratic victory.

O’Reilly framed the fight as a “classic moderate Republican versus hard-right Republican” feud, and Goldberg rejected the “ideological rigidity” of people who will sit on their hands and refuse to vote for a Republican presidential nominee if they aren’t sufficiently conservative enough. And this is what led Goldberg to accuse these tea partiers of being the real RINOs in the GOP.

“As far as the tea partiers are concerned, anybody to the left of Ted Cruz is a RINO… but you know what? The real RINOs are the real people in the tea party and on the hard right, because they have made it clear over and over again that their allegiance is not to the Republican party, but to their particular brand of conservatism, so they’re the RINOs.”

O’Reilly suggested Cruz, if he ran, could rally the nation behind him if Obamacare continues to be a disaster, but Goldberg said anything short of “horrendously bad” will not be enough to help them. He also warned that if someone like Cruz gets the nomination, “every registered Democrat will vote, and that’s a recipe for a Democratic victory?”

Ooops! That should be...

I reject the ideological rigidity of Bernie, GOP and "moderates" who will sit on their hands and not support anyone who does not pass the liberal purity test. Ken Cuccinelli being the latest example.

Very impressive narrative. Someone is bright eyed and wide awake at this ungodly hour.

I’m through with this country and if i could take all my assets and go somewhere else, I’d do it.

I've been keeping my eye out for another country as well.

“...and you have a formidable and virtually unshakable coalition.”

Yes, right up until the guys writing the checks every tax quarter stop doing so...And that is what it is going to take to “shake” them.

Obviously, by the continuous attacks upon them, the Tea Party has a ligiment place in politics and pose a huge threat to the survival of the RINO’s and also the demodummies. No doubt, the Republican party is a thing of the past and no longer demonstrates what they were originally founded for. The Rino’s need to be replaced by people who will once again forge conservatism.

Right now, the only thing holding the Tea Party back is a common leader and that person will soon surface, its just a matter of time.

Yup...lots of people don't vote because neither party gives them anything to vote for....

Just think of the possibilities......

Time for ALL conservatives to RUN for the exits vis a vis the Republican party...let the RINOs try to attain power in competition with a truly conservative party...they wouldn't stand a chance.

I listened to this last night. This is what Goldberg said - if someone like Krispy Kreme Christie gets nominated and the Tea Party people do not turn out for him, then the Tea Party people are in the wrong and Hillary gets elected. However, if someone like Ted Cruz gets the nomination, the moderates will stay home and not vote. But that would be okay. The logic being that Tea Party people better get with the program and vote for whomever but the moderates do not have to support any conservative candidate.

On a side note - other than talk radio and Free Republic, I have heard nothing on how the GOPe did not support the conservative in Virginia. Actually helped the dem. Reminds me of the scene in the movie Signs, where Mel Gibson is trying to explain Gods will and coincidence to his brother. At the end he states - we're on our own. That is how I feel.

Stay in the Party and at least vote in the primaries. That is where you can be the biggest nuisance to the GOPe. If your guy doesn’t win in the primary blow off the general.

Another faker exposed.

My rule of thumb is that where a pundit or pol stands on Sarah Palin is a good indicator as to whether they are conservatives at all—or the usual GOPe-type fakers.

By that measure, Bernie Goldberg was actually exposed at least as far back as 2010:

I have often said that RINO is an inaccurate term. When Conservatives see Republicans acting like Republicans instead of being conservative we call them RINOs. They aren’t Republicans in Name Only, they are real Republicans. That’s how Establishment Republicans are-—always. If you want to insult some mushy, middle of the road moderate call him a Republican not a RINO. In that sense oldberg is correct, Conservatives are RINOs. They call themselves Republican because there is no viable alternative party, but they are actually Conservatives. This Conservative would like to abolish the term RINO and replace it with the term Squish.

Sorry Bernie, but watch this conservative sit on his thumbs if the Fat Man is the nominee. No more Dem Lites for me. None. Never again. I'll choose the Samson Option over the GOPe.

Just saw/heard this.

Head explodes!

O'Reilly allows/encourages talking excrement heads like Bernie to say junk like this!......just furious

THIS is their meme till the election.....Ted Cruz...far right....can't win the election.

This is the path 'they' will go down and this is the path to destruction.

Who needs shrill Democrat talking heads when a Bernie Goldberg will do....(or is he Democrat too)

“of people who will sit on their hands and refuse to vote for a Republican presidential nominee if they aren’t sufficiently conservative enough.”

The part that sticks out: “if they aren’t sufficiently conservative enough” could better be written as: “if the are traitorous democrat wannabe’s”.

Just why in the hubs of hell would any rational person want to vote for someone trying to be the identical twin of their enemy??????

The Democrats crucify anyone straying from their ranks, why can’t conservatives?
