Should Republicans Help Democrats Fix Obamacare?
PJ Media ^ | 11-13-2013 | Rick Moran

Posted on 11/13/2013 1:24:23 PM PST by Sir Napsalot

The GOP can't remain on the sidelines while the country burns.

If the argument over Obamacare could be confined to the political arena, it would be a no-brainer to say that Republicans should sit back and watch the Democrats stew in their own juices as the law implodes.

But we are far past the point of simple politics. The rollout of Obamacare has thrown the United States into an unprecedented crisis. Unprecedented because it has been caused by the monumental hubris of the Democratic Party, which actually believed it could legislate reform for one-sixth of the U.S. economy without ghastly unanticipated consequences. And the crisis is unprecedented because ....

(snip) It would be wonderful for Republican prospects in 2014 to ignore all of this, stand on a soap box, and rail against the villains who brought this crisis upon us. It would also be grossly irresponsible. Some Republicans appear to be resisting that temptation and are trying to work with Democrats to pass some Obamacare “fixes” that would deal with at least some of the problems that have created the crisis. ...... Is it time for Republicans to dust off the “repeal and replace” option and work to sub out most of the Obamacare legislation?

(snip) The political risk to Republicans of staying on the sidelines while the country burns is just as great as the risk to Democrats of doing nothing. People are angry, frightened, and confused. It’s time to show the voters that the Republican Party is worthy of governing by acting responsibly in the face of a serious crisis not of their own making. Voters aren’t stupid. They will know whom to blame for this fiasco.

That is the only way Republicans should help Democrats with this mess.

Repeal it or go with it. Exactly how it is now.

No rebuilding. tear it down and start over.

There is only one fix that will work. Repeal.

They were already given a chance to keep a good chunk of government shut down until it was defunded.

There is no “fix” for this. This IS socialized medicine and this IS broken at its foundations so terribly that it is beyond reckoning.

There is no fix. It must be repealed. It must be stopped permanently. If anything less is done, the damage that Obamacare is about to wreak on our lives, my family’s lives and my life personally will be monumental.

Only a repeal, and one that happens within weeks of today will spare us from the terror and hell of what would happen if we needed serious medical care starting next year.

All this was not “necessary.” As broken as the medical system WAS prior to passing Obamacare, most of us could still barely get coverage where we could somehow barely survive the deductibles. Now? No. There is no plan we can sign up for that has deductibles or out of pocket that we can afford if the need arose.

Essentially, whether we are signed up or not, we don’t have insurance.

Our old plans? The one’s we still can keep for another month or two? It works.

It isn’t “broken.” “Broken” implies it can can be fixed. There is nothing there to fix. Nothing in this monstrosity that will help one person without doing great harm to a hundred others.

Toss it. Toss it now before it’s too late.

My head will explode if I hear one more republican talk about delaying obamacare. Why would they want to delay it and let the democrats off the hook for the next election. This is the democrat party and obama’s signature plan, let it take them down.

How many conservatives voted for this Debacle?

the bill they ought to vote on in the house should be called ..”Keep Your Plan and Your Doctor Act: The Repeal Of The ACA”

make the democrats vote against a bill that has in the title “Keep Your Plan and Your Doctor” but is actually a total repeal of the law ....get them on record voting against that ....

I'm conflicted on this one.

On one hand, if the pubbies DO lend a hand to these incompetent libturds, it might help save an obamanation that should have been strangled in its crib. If it DOES survive with the pubbies help, the no/low info dummies and obozo worshipers out there will never hear about that and again feel warm and fuzzy about their savior, keeping them alive for '14 & '16.

On the other hand, if the pubbies stay on the sidelines while the thing collapses, taking millions of families with it, the libturds and their handmaidens in the MSM will turn it into banner headlines and blame the pubbies.

My suggestion for the pubs is to GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER AND GET THEIR SENSIBLE, FREE-MARKET PLAN OUT THERE AND PUSH LIKE HELL!

That said, I've expressed what I'd LOVE to happen so long as the sensible members of Congress don't take the rap for what really is a another libturd travesty for which THEY should take ALL THE HEAT!

And if Boehner does anything except introduce and pass repeal bills, he is as much of an idiot as Obama and the Dems, because once you try to "fix" this, you own it, too.

He should be standing at a podium in front of cameras every single day telling reporters, "We knew this would happen. We tried to warn people this would happen. We passed bills that would keep it from happening that not one Democrat voted for. So to Obama and Reid I say, 'Call me when you're ready to end the American people's suffering.' Until then, we will not entertain any idea or bill that does not provide for a full repeal of this Democrat-created monstrosity."

Should Republicans Help Democrats Fix Obamacare?

Republicans "should" fix it ONLY IF we continue to pretend Obamacare is actually about healthcare reform. Just like those oh-so-helpful Republicans who's trying to work with Democrats right now to 'fix it', and Rick Moran (author of the article).

Moran has not laid out a plausible reason for ANY Republican to work to 'fix' Obamacare.

Fix it? Hell No!

Republicans should be out there every chance reminding Americans:

“We told you this was going to happen. We told you when the Democrats shoved it down your throats - on a party line vote. We told you during the election. We told you when we wanted to put a 1-year hold on it & were accused of shutting down the government. But you chose to listen to President Liar. Remember this in 2016 when the Democrats start feeding you a bunch of new lies.”

All the republicans who were consulted on the creation of obamacare, whose ideas were used and whose vote helped pass it should pitch in to help fix it

The Republicans need to be seen as helping the American Citizens out of this nightmare of an Obamacare scam. They just can’t step aside and let citizens drown. Repubs need to get out in front of those Dems trying to save their seats in the next mid term election. Don’t let the Dems take credit for saving people from Ocare.

There is a benefit to allowing people to suffer if it will finally convince a majority of Americans that the government cannot solve all of their problems, reversing the trends of the last 75 years.

The GOP should hammer the statist mentality that spawned this ridiculousness, and hammer Obama because statism defines his administration.

Then they should propose burning Obamacare completely to the ground and, determined to rely on the market as much as is practicable, deal with the obvious problems with the old system piecemeal, one at a time and with separate and distinct legislative proposals.

The Affordable Health Care Act is the government sanctioned looting of America’s health-care system and wealth.

Just as you wouldn’t negotiate with looters, wouldn’t ask them to please only take some stuff, to please consider coming back in a few months, the Republican party has to stand unified against this atrocity.

No one will be able to instantly fix the damage that these Marxists have done to our health-care system and economy, but the only way to eventually set things right is to be level with the American people, and perhaps to bear a bit of short-term pain.

NO.
It is not fixable.
It was wrong from the start.
Let it fail and scrap it and start over.
