Our mayor-elect traveled to the White House on Friday, and he was on a mission: to join with President Obama to promote the progressive vision.
Well leave aside for a moment the elephant in the room here, which is that the meeting Bill de Blasio hails as a new opportunity for progressivism took place at a time when the signature achievement of modern progressivism ObamaCare has become a synonym for overreach, inefficiency and broken promises.
That doesnt seem to deter Bill. As he made clear before he left, he was eager to join the president and more than a dozen other mayors in the Roosevelt Room because it struck him as an opportunity to thump for the progressive future. At a press conference Thursday, he put it this way: A lot of the mayors around the country, many progressives among them, are anxious to put their stamp on the national debate and start to move together in a more progressive direction. I think were going to have a tremendous ally in the president.
De Blasio was elected on a clear progressive line, so he understandably sees his landslide victory as a mandate for his vision. Friggin’ communist bastards.
If New York thought they got hit hard on 9/11, they ain’t seen nuthin’ yet. I could almost feel compassion until I recall that this communist was elected by a landslide. Goodbye, New York. Goodbyeeeee.....
My condolences to the decent Conservatives who got steamtolled. Get out if you can.
And steamrolled too. Run over. Whatever.
You wanted him New York, you got him! Bloomberg wasn’t enough for ya, so you elect this jerk, HAH!
Wow, steamrolled AND steamtolled - NY conservatives are really getting battered!
All I can say is When NYC comes hat in hand begging for more money to prop up its so “solcialist utopia” (aka throw down a rathole of corruption). I will enjoy saying what Pres. Ford said in 1975: “Ford to city: Drop Dead”
He never said “drop dead” I bet. That was the media’s reaction to not getting a bail out. He probably said something like “Get your own house in order, I’m busy”
The Marxist Brothers. Neither one is very funny.
