Karl Rove, the voice of the Republican donor class, is predicting that tea party-backed primary candidates will lose nearly all their primary fights against business-backed GOP politicians during 2014.
Every Republican senator and virtually every representative challenged in a primary as insufficiently conservative will win, Rove wrote in a Dec. 26 blog post, an excerpt of which appeared in The Wall Street Journal. The op-ed listed his predictions about American politics in 2014.
Roves business vs. tea party prediction is somewhat self-serving hes positioned himself as a leader of the GOP-affiliated donors and businesses who are facing criticism from the tea partys populist advocates of small government.
Rove, however, leaves himself wiggle room to claim victory next December even if his business donors fail to gain a glorious victory over the GOPs small-government voters.
His careful language doesnt predict that all GOP business-backed incumbents will survive the populist wave, and doesnt promise that GOP primary voters will always pick business-favored candidates instead of tea party candidates.
So if a few GOP House members are dethroned by the tea party, and if few or most business guys strike out in Senate primaries, or if the GOP leadership ignores business priorities, Rove still gets to declare next December that his 2014 predictions were correct.
But Roves 2014 predictions are an important guide to the short-term priorities of the establishment GOP.
Judging by his article, the GOP establishment will focus on Obamacare and avoid divisive issues like immigration in a determined effort to win a majority in the Senate....

And when all the Donor based candidates win, the tea party will opt out of the general election. Way to go Karl Rove.
“Rove predicts GOP unity and Senate win in 2014”
So what? Today’s Republicans are nothing more then Dimocrap lite. Tea Party Republicans are the only ones that can save America, but they are largely restricted to the outfield.
Oh Gawd! Please shut up Karl!
Next it’ll be Dick Morris predicting landslides.
Rove predicts........enoungh to scare you away
What? Is Rove planning to retire?
Every Republican senator and virtually every representative challenged in a primary as insufficiently conservative will win,
I loathe this man
Clinton vs Christie in the Presidential election? Nothing but the best and the brightest for the US! /sssssss
Rove thinks like all the Vichy Republicans...Conservatives will vote for a Republican who calls them whacko birds and helps Democrats ...not so sure that will happen.
not supporting nor voting for any more damned RINO garbage
If the GOP continues to be run by those who imposed
RomneyCARE and gay marriage and treason, then
the GOP is the enemy of all conservative Americans.
Rove predicts GOP unity >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Buahahahahahaha! Rove predicts that the GOP presidential candidate will be another loser like John McCain or Mitt Romney. Does Rove think that Jeb Bush, or Fatboy Christie
can beat Hillary Clinton? Buahahahahahahahahaha!
Conservatives wll never again vote for and Rove RINO drone candidate, and we will have Ted Cruz or his ilk, or nothing.
The GOP needs to run Rove out on a cedar rail and put the tar and feathers to him. Rove is the biggest reason we have a fascist sitting in the White Hut right now!
No GOP unity, ever, until the GOP becomes a Constitution Restoration Movement! Rove is out to lunch, a Nero fiddling while Rome burns.
Rove, shut up. The tea party will win and show you RINOs that you are a has been.
Anything Rove says is not worth a comment. Well damn I meant to ignore this.
And why is this? Because Tea Party rebubs will not put up the kind of fight which is necessary to win.
Unless repubs start cloning Ted Cruz' they will be remain on the back burner.
Until the Rhino’s and the Tea Party can come together and get along, you can kiss any possibility of taking back the senate and/or the house. It ain’t gonna happen”.
linda grammy will not win.
What kind of nonsensical B.S. is this? Conservatives need to form their own party or take over the wretched rino party, there will be no, "coming together." The rino repub party is the loser party and always will be unless conservatives take it over.
“Rove predicts....” Well that’s a problem only after the first two words.
Kommie Kweer Karl going to cost the House to the Dems...and help Dems with more Senate seats.
Doubling down on stupid is a classic GOP-E campaign tactic. And nobody can do that like Karl Rove.
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?”
— Mark 8:36
I will stand with NO candidate thats weak on Amnesty.....NOT ONE!
He’s sadly mistaken. There is nothing more than I’d like to see is my two Georgia RINO Senators thrown out of office like the liars they are.
First, someone has to find out what his salary and perks are for the GOPAC he’s running. Then we can use actuarial tables for criminals to compute what the value of his ‘retirement’ is, and guess at when the payout becomes enough.
I will not support any more progressive Republicans! Amnesty is my new litmus test. Catch phrases like immigration reform as a sure indication of a liberal/progressive. No money will be sent to the Republican party I will only donate to individuals that show true conservatism.
Well said! And ditto for me.
From a guy who is predicted to spend....is it 50 million....to tear apart his own party.
Rove has become as serious a threat to our country as obumbler.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is ready to take on the tea party in 2014 Senate primaries and elections with a deep-pocketed boost of establishment and business Republican candidates.
“Our No. 1 focus is to make sure, when it comes to the Senate, that we have no loser candidates,” Chamber strategist Scott Reed told The Wall Street Journal. “That will be our mantra: No fools on our ticket.”
The fool was still insisting Romney would win after it was apparent Obama was re-elected.
The GOP are losers ... like Tokyo Rove.
Someone needs to retire Rove and send him back to selling Tupperware or Amway.
