With Gov. Jerry Brown (D-CA) joining Elizabeth Warren and other in deciding not to run in 2016, it looks like Hillary Clinton will have no serious challenger for the Democratic nomination in 2016.
According to the LA Times, California Gov. Jerry Brown has ruled out another run for the Democratic nomination in 2016, No, thats not in the cards. Unfortunately. With his impressive record as governor, Brown would have presenting a serious and interesting challenge to Hillary Clinton. However, it is looking more and more like Democrats have decided to clear the field for Hillary in 2016.
Last month, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) also ruled out running in 2016, Im not running for president and I plan to serve out my term I pledge to serve out my term. I am not running for president. I am working as hard as I can to be the best possible senator I can be. I am working as hard as I can to be the best the possible senator that I can be and to fight for the things that I promised during my campaign that I would fight for. I am fighting for bank accountability. I am fighting hard to help rebuild Americas middle class.
There are no top tier Democrats who want to challenge Hillary Clinton in 2016. Maryland Gov. Martin OMalley said that he wouldnt run if Clinton does, and former Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer is tinkering with the idea, but he seems far from serious about a run. Hillary Clinton will likely get a primary challenger, but it will be a no-chancer like Dennis Kucinich.
The 2008 Democratic primary was good for both candidates and the Democratic Party. Clinton and Obama pushed each other, and they became better candidates because of it. The reason why Obamas campaign against McCain seemed so easy was because beating Clinton was that hard. Hillary Clinton will be a great 2016 candidate, but all Democrats would be better served if she had a serious challenger.
It is easy to understand why Brown, Warren, or any other top Democrat wouldnt run. Clinton will be a formidable candidate with deep support within the party, and a gigantic campaign war chest. It would take a candidate of Barack Obamas caliber to defeat her, and Elizabeth Warren is no Obama.
However, it would be best for the party if Clinton was not allowed to veer too far away from the partys leftward shift. Clinton could use a serious challenger, but it looks like no one is willing to step up to the challenge.
“With his impressive record as governor, “
The stupid. It burns.
You do NOT want to mess with her, sucka!
Come again? Are we talking about the same Jerry Brown?
I think it’s called, The Vince Foster Effect.
I say watch Axlegrease, Gibbs, and Plouffy.
If they jump on board with the Clinton Crime Family, it’s game over.
And if they don’t, remember January 2008...
Oh, come on EW face the general public........
really the mocking will be monumental......
and I need a really hearty laugh laugh.
President Aunt Esther.
Look out sucka.
Or any GOP opposition, I expect.
I really think that’s why she stayed behind at Orca’s estate in Hawaii with Valerie Jarrett and the rest of the entourage. They’re planning her campaign.
What about Biden?
As Spock would observe: One less marxist traitor in the race.
Logical, but sad!
These are blatant people. They think they're just that much smarter than anyone else. They have pens. And phones.
No vote from myself ! But need someone who run on the GOP ticket and win ! Don’t want a feminist woman run the USA ! I am sure the comments would be pretty rude from my mouth !
Mchelle will not run.
She has never maade a single speech about anything other than food and exercise. If she were running, she would already be all over the map talking policy.
Warren did not say she will not take the VP slot.
So if Cankles doesn’t run the Dems have no candidate!?! Hmmm
I think 2012 proved that the Chicago Mob could elect Charles Manson as POTUS if they wanted to.
If MooseChelle wants the job, it’s hers to have.
I really don’t think “What difference does it make!” could survive a primary. The ‘RATS make sure their creations don’t have any competition that would cause their “war chest” to decrease.
In ‘04, Obama ruled out an ‘08 run also:
“You know, I am a believer in knowing what you’re doing when you apply for a job. And I think that if I were to seriously consider running on a national ticket, I would essentially have to start now, before having served a day in the Senate. Now, there are some people who might be comfortable doing that, but I’m not one of those people.”
I think its called, The Vince Foster Effect.
