Not to worry: The GOP-E will make sure it’s a very friendly location for leftist kooks to garner the headlines and distract from the charade inside.

As a resident of Oklahoma I very much agree with you. I’m not sure of OKC but I suspect that Tulsa, headquarters of much of the US oil and gas industry, would have sufficient hotel space to support a convention.

Another terrific location would be Charleston, SC. Wipe out the memory of the earlier Democratic convention (1860)

As I was pondering the thought and trying to determine a location if I was king ... it occured to me that;

There isn't too much (afaIk) to choose from that would have a large enough venue that is easily secureable and;

What IS available seems to be more in enemy territory than not.

I don't "know" a whole lot about a lot of cities, but being from the Pittsburgh area, the older cities (imo) are not good choices, so a 'newer' one is preferable.

Though Texas has been in the news a lot lately with some left and negative reports, and it is VERY close to a (perhaps) dangerous border ... I think Texas would be my choice.

Please - we already have enough of our native criminal class, why would we invite others in from the outside? As to Tulsa as the HQ for US O&G, you’re about 30 years behind - they all picked up and left for Houston. OKC has more corporate O&G HQ: Devon, Chesapeake, and Continental.

OK thanks for the input. I just thought that if the GOP wanted to emphasis their conservative base principles they might want to hold their convention in one of the most conservative states in the US.

I understand your sentiment but I think you over-estimate the influence of the conservative base within the GOP.

You are probably right. If I was a GOP delegate I would prefer a convention at a smaller city like Charleston, SC or Jacksonville.

Didn’t mention factoring in the city with the most/best prostitutes. Oh wait, that’s the GOP’s role.

How about Amarillo. I am not near, but have lived there 3 times. Locals are some of the most solid conservatives in the country.

SC has its share of RINOs like Linny Graham Cracker.

They can hold it the same time as one of the
WANAMAKER gun shows in Tulsa. Let’s make a statement.

“San Francisco or Mexico City: to appeal to their new voter base.”

The Chamber of Commerce can pay for it.
