Were we conservatives not screaming from the rooftops at the people, and especially the Republicans, in Arizona not to believe their resident mega-gasbag in 2010, please not believe him, again!?
Whole thing sounds kinda fishy to me. Just like the Clintoons, get the bad news out of the way so the Stupid Party will forget again and be mesmerized by the megalomaniac come 2016. True conservatived hated him after his election give-away in 2008 but even with the rise of the Tea Party movement, they still voted him in, again, after his transparently negative and dishonest campaign against J.D.
If the Republican Party of Arizona wants to convey an honest message they are tired of politics of old, CHANGE THE FRIGGIN OPEN PRIMARY RULE! Close primary voting for Republican candidates to Republicans only and that will change a lot without this feel good censure that will do nothing.

Back when the Savings and Loan scandal broke out...and he was a major player in it....I kept wondering why no prosecutor would take him down. He may be some national hero of sorts from the Vietnam War....but he’s corrupted for the most part, and a pretender Republican.
You are correct and I do remember his involvement in the Keating Five scandal. I have always said that is when he turned and became the stool pigeon for the Left.

Liberal record is a euphemism for complete corruption. McCain shamelessly used Arizona for his own fund raising business and other coward endeavors.
Politicians do not see home states, they see it like places like Thailand or Italy to be specialized for sex tourism. They could care two craps about the history of the nations, like Obama disgustingly drinking Guiness on StPatricks day and whoring the Irish into a beer.
I live in AZ. I was under the impression the GOP primary was open. I seem to recall when McCain was running for Senator last time, he pressured the state party to keep the open primary. Now that the state GOP has finally censured this old fossil, I hope he decides it may not be a good idea to run again.
You had better consult your state records, Arizona has semi-open primaries.
Arizona (Semi-closed, with primaries open only to unaffiliated or unrepresented voters, except for the Libertarian Party of Arizona primary.) It is possible to change your affiliation before the primaries and Democrats seeing a united front on their chosen one will change so they can affect the Republican choice. That does not go to say that they could change from Democrat to Republican, but why give them the opportunity to do so as an outsider. Close the registration changes well before the primaries.

California has an open primary system and it's one of the things that has destroyed the Republican party there. When you allow your opponents to choose your party's candidates, you're going to loose. That's one reason why the first campaign I worked on after I moved here in 2011 was "No On 121".
I think the way to clean up the mess is for the RNC to start taking delegates away from states based upon the number of non-republican votes cast in their primaries. But given the RNC, that ain't happenin'.
Would a submarine dive with a semi-open hatch? I just don’t get your point of bringing in the LDS on this. Are they tooooo conservative for you? Are you and others willing to let the media drive the narrative? If using the LDS as a reason only open you, or them, up to being nothing more than a bigot. There is this funny little phrase at the end of the freedom OF religion part of the 1st Amendment that says “or the free exercise thereof.”
For the record, I am Southern Baptist but I will defend to my dying breath and gave an oath to do so in regards to protecting all of the Constitution, not just the parts I may agree with or only apply to my personal situation in life.
Close them, altogether. If someone does not want to play, go find their own party to have a primary with. I say either let the Republican Party sink or die on how it really represents true republicanism.

This was made even worse by someone noting that while Arizona was doing this, McCain was at Davos, with a picture of him there, hobnobbing with none other than George Soros.
This is not an uncommon event, as several times in the past the two have hung out together.

I have worked the phones during election campaigns. When you call someone who is on your list and they tell you they're not a Republican anymore the next question, if you get to ask, is "why did you leave us?" Based on this admittedly unscientific survey I can tell you that the two main reasons people told me they left the Republican party were that the establishment here and/or nationally had gone too far left and that they had the perception that the state party is dominated by the LDS church. I never said that I concurred with this opinion and a check of people holding public office here will show that it is not an accurate perception. None the less, it is a perception.
This conversation has degenerated into a useless pissing contest and this is my last post to this thread.
I read somewhere that even Nancy Reagan has no use for him.
