Michelle Malkin girds for 2014 GOP civil war
The Politico ^ | February 8, 2014 | Mackenzie Weinger

Michelle Malkin doesn’t run away from fights, she runs toward them. And she’s running faster than ever headlong into the 2014 Republican primary battles on behalf of upstart conservative candidates who are mounting insurgent challenges to the GOP old guard.

Twitter is Malkin’s weapon of choice. Battles with her almost always devolve into wars, and those who follow the conservative social media scene know she has a proven formula online: Taunting quips from foes bring out the full force of her Twitter arsenal, with snappy replies, catchy hashtags and the mobilization of a legion of energized followers.

Malkin, 43, says she’s using her influence — and her confrontational approach — on behalf of candidates she deems worthy of it in this year’s midterm.

“I see the practically unlimited power that social media has to help push the issues and causes and people I care about,” Malkin told POLITICO in a recent interview. “I know what I’m good at.”(continued)

cripplecreek :" She’s often overlooked but I count her as one of the toughest conservative women out there."

The team of Palin and Malkin
would make it the "IN " team for conservatism

I picked up a copy of Forbes and read it on the plane this morning.

The article was about Christie and why the GOPe wanted him.

The elites were all gathered. Vernon Jordon opposed Christie because he is a “bully”.

I’ll leave it there for the rest of you to figure it out.

Rand Paul's immigration speech
...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let's start that conversation by acknowledging we aren't going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

Rand Paul calls on conservatives to embrace immigration reform
Latinos, should be a natural constituency for the party, Paul argued, but "Republicans have pushed them away with harsh rhetoric over immigration." ...he would create a bipartisan panel to determine how many visas should be granted for workers already in the United States and those who might follow... [and the buried lead] "Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers...

I had no idea of here age, but she is a great deal younger than me. So from my perspective it wasn’t something I thought about.

I do admire her understanding of the latest issue that comes on the radar. She is always on to that.

Yes, but BOTH parents are Filipinos. That makes her a Filipina
born in America.

Malkin led the successful siege on MSNBC over their attack on conservatives last week and MSNBC threw up a white flag within hours.

I think the world of Malkin.

So MANY so-called conservative voices I’ve lost total faith and respect in over these past few years. I pay attention to so very, very few nowadays. But there are still some out there that have remained solid, in the face of withering pressures from either the GOP-E hive-mind or the hip clarion calls of cultural rot. Like Malkin, Mark Levin, Phyllis Shlafley, and such.

For anyone who doesn't know, Michelle created and was CEO of a website called Twitchy. This website is a unique, clever idea, where she and her staff would search Twitter feeds looking for outrageous commentary, mostly from "progressives." She woudl highlight the tweets along with her wit and humerous putdowns.

It is a very creative and effective way to bring the fight to Twitter.

She is an American citizen, and I suspect she would take your silly head off for your smarmy, patronizing comments.

My mother was born to German immigrants and she would have thrown you out the back door on your tin ear if you had called her anything but American.

Perhaps you ought to limit your little fantasy island comments to you and yours, especially when your targets aren’t present to set you straight.

This is a big deal. The Dems have had a “youth” advantage vis a vis technology. If Malkin is on her game, this is a game changer. She’s smarter than the best operatives the Democrats have fielded over the last four Presidential elections. Had she been on this track in ‘08 Obama would still be a senator.

Excuse me, but are you saying that she would be insulted to be recognized as a Filipina????
I am sure she is quite proud of her heritage. Do you even know yours?

The article said she is 43.

I think my general point is that she truly is respectable.

Granted, I would have to somehow instantly elevate myself about 3 tiers on the respectability scale to even begin to approach her level.

Sadly, the marriage is called off on that account alone. Oh well.

Ann needs a few sticks of butter. She’s soooo slender... and tall.

But as tough as Michelle is... I think Ann is more “mean”. You either respect someone or fear them, really. Tall slender conservative women (because of personal experience with one) attract but ultimately intimidate me.
