Hill: Rubio Gaining as GOP Establishment's Preferred 2016 Choice.

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio is garnering support from mainstream Republican fundraisers and contributors for a 2016 presidential run, according to The Hill. Those backing Rubio are antagonistic toward the tea party and see him as an alternative to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who faced new allegations over the weekend that allegedly implicate him in the "Bridge-gate" lane-closing scandal.

The senator's presidential stock has fluctuated. A year ago Time magazine hailed Rubio as "The Republican Savior" only to see him displaced by Christie after Rubio fumbled delivering the GOP response to the 2013 State of the Union Address. Rubio also antagonized conservatives by supporting Senate immigration reform legislation, according to the Post.

Oh come on....Rubio, Jeb Bush, Christie, I mean...what a great line up for POTUS. Maybe they could resurrect Bob Dole, McCain, wouldn’t that be exciting?

I’d have never thought 3 years ago that Rubio would be the GOP Establishment’s choice. I must say, I’m disappointed.
__________

I see this as a positive...Rubio is more consevrative than Christie, Romney or McCain...I like Paul,Cruz, and Gov. Walker better (Walker would be my choice right now)...but Rubio isn’t nearly as bad as some of the names being floated...or tried in years past.

Yes, he is a problem on immigration...but as to Health Care, Taxes, abortion, and entitlement reform...much much better...

Rubio as the 2016 GOP nominee. Yeh that’ll happen. Not.

__________

True...but nobody knows any politician...

The key is to stay in their faces...think Harriet Myers and Sam Alito...point is — with Bush we had a chance to get Alito...with a Democrat, there will never be a chance....

Sadly, the GOPe were whipped by obama have mentally checked out until 2016. They have no interest in being an enagaged opposition party with the kenyan in the WH.

So, when is? Wait for another round of voting for the same and expecting a different result?

The 'GOP' has been trending leftward since early 2000s, with Frist and Lott, et al.

Levin keeps saying 'we need a new Republican party', but I wonder if the nation can survive long enough for that to ever happen from within?

Some commentators are predicting that it will take decades to recover from the current state of affairs. If the next president is a Dem-lib or GOPelite, we will just see more of the same -- more spending and more taxation and digging the hold deeper.

_____________

We sure did...but poitn being, we also got Alito...

With Obama, Hillary or somoe other dem, whatt are he chances we get Roberts and Alito or Ginsburg and Sotomayor?

Obama is seeding the federal district courts and appeallate courts with serious liberals...Bush didn’t do that...This is rarely talked about but hugely important...we have to have a Republican in 2016 for many reasons...

Rubio and Ryan, giving voice to those lie-filled, Zuckerberg-financed, pro-amnesty commercials...

I have nothing but utter CONTEMPT for those two. Never under any circumstances will either ever get my vote.
