Obama Urges House Dems to Fight for His Agenda ‘Regardless of the Political Cost’
PJ Tatler ^ | 2-14-2014 | Bridget Johnson

President Obama gave a pep talk to House Democrats at their retreat in Maryland this morning, saying he was “grateful” for Nancy Pelosi’s team and “looking forward to making sure that this year we keep on making progress, even if we continue to get a little resistance from the other side.”

“Part of what I’d like to think makes us Democrats is not simply some abstract ideological set of beliefs, but the fact that we’re reminded every single day that we’re here to help a whole bunch of folks out there, our neighbors, our friends, our communities, who are struggling still and need our help,” Obama said. “And they’re counting on us. The good thing is they’ve got some outstanding members of Congress who are willing to fight for them regardless of the political cost, starting with your leader, Nancy Pelosi.”

(snip)

“We laid out some very specific ways that we can move the country forward, breaking them down into a few categories. Number one, creating more good jobs that pay good wages. Number two, making sure that folks are trained to fill those good jobs. Number three, making sure that our kids have the best education in the world,” Obama said. “And, number four, making sure that hard work pays off, that people aren’t poor if they’re working full time, that they have some semblance of retirement security, that they can count on health care if, heaven forbid, something happens to them.”

“And already, just in the last couple of weeks, we’ve put forward a range of executive actions that are gonna make a difference,” .......

Yep, it’s easy for him to say, do this regardless of politics. He’s already reelected, doesn’t have to face the voters ever again.

To Die for the Emperor is a good thing!

He isn't Hirohito and Obamacare isn't Iwo Jima. Between now and November, the Rats are going to be paddling furiously away from the Obama's Island of the Damned on every home-made canoe they can nail together. :)

What a selfish prick! He’ll be gone in a little over two years and they all want to hang around for a while but he wants them to put their necks out on a line “for the cause!!”

I think he’s worried that it might all crumble and might not be set in permanent cement like he plans.

In reality, in order to preserve the advance of the glorious march forward towards a Utopian future of totalitarian leftism, it’s Obama who should take one for the time by resigning.

That way, all those on the left can blame their failure on Obama’s personal failure, rather than on the inherent unsustainability of their evil progressive agenda.

$hithead knows very well that the people he aims to "help" aren't struggling - they aren't even trying!

They get up, go to the mailbox and get their welfare check, then they head out to the nearest party.

Bwahahahahha. Puuulese. Show one single time where Nancy Pelosi has ever taken a stand on something which had even a potential for a "political cost".

That’s quite a bit of chutzpah from the guy who, in 2012, left the Democratic Senate Election Committee (or whatever it’s called) high and dry by refusing to share funds with them.

But, you know, at the end of the day, I think Obama really doesn’t give a hoot about anyone in his party beyond their ability to push through his agenda. Eggs must be broken to make an omelet, and all that.

Way to lead from behind, there, Sparky.

The interesting thing is that the dems don’t seem to realize what he’s actually telling them is that he’s already made them irrelevant with his extensive use of EO and subjective application of law, so if they “take one for the team” it doesn’t matter, because they’re just pawns and politically expendable.

They don't even have to go to the mailbox. Now that they've made everything electronic transfer and given them credit cards, all they have to do is party on. Can't have the humiliation of somebody seeing a welfare check in your mailbox, you know.

What "resistance"? Courtesy of Boehner and McConnell, you got a blank check on spending for the next 12 1/2 months.

Look how many fell on their sword in 2010. And nothing they did has been undone. They’ll do it again.

And with no opposition from the gopE they just might get away with it this time.
