Local County Republican Party Annual Fundraiser Problem
2/18/14 | Good Tomato

Posted on 02/18/2014 6:07:52 PM PST by goodtomato

Every year my local County Republican Committee does a "Lincoln Day Dinner" as a fundraiser to replenish our coffers. Monies used to maintain our headquarters, (which is rent free)maintain a web site, phone, printed material, etc... The problem we are experiencing is with the "Republican" base anger. In our county, republicans hold every elected office except the Sheriff. Romney won our county. We are delivering the vote, but people are so angry at the national party and I am understanding with their dissatisfaction, which I agree with.

I believe we need to grow our elected officials', take them for a test drive, and if they follow the ideals, promote them.

How do we deal with the national backlash to the GOP-E, which we believe is warranted. Many of our members are also Tea Party active, but when we lose a local battle they seem to turn an issue to blame.

How do we define an issue, and motivate our base to work for that goal? Nothing like getting bitched at by your members when your trying to promote conservative values.

I'm looking for constructive response, not the same old slam the republican party. Some of us are working to restore!

What does "win the war" mean to you?

"The tea party (which I support) join, then quit, then join again We all are in the car but we are not steering it."

The problem is that representative government in the U.S. has been coopted by the elite and entitlement classes.
The working men and women in this country (major TEA party demographic) have lost confidence in our elected and non elected political leaders.

"We all are in the car but we are not steering it."

We are more than willing to climb in to a car being driven by a leader concerned with our welfare and has a clear defined course.

When the war is between two groups I don’t like, why should I join one?

Question, let us say I wanted to volunteer but I only wanted to make calls or seek donations for some candidates and not others. Would I be welcomed or not?

I have a feeling at most GOP local offices I would not be welcomed should I decide that I won’t help out someone like John Cornyn

John, I’m a carpenter, not a writer. Your views (explanation) is what I was trying to convey. Thank you for clarifying my thoughts.

Only raise money for local and state elections and don’t send anything to the national republican party.

You would have that choice. We don’t support or denounce a candidate in the primary as a party. Individual members can work for whatever (republican) candidate they support.

The parties are front organizations.

They’re meaningless.

New world order controls them both.

There has to be an alternative to new world order first. A network of people of all stripes that are determined to defeat new world order have to make their own new world order.

Once you get that going to some degree, “we the people” can “take back” both parties, or have no parties, whichever they choose, and it won’t be so difficult.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have your own local and State “kingpins” that were actually real people, not minions of new world order.

Your state could begin to flush out all their agendas from your laws and institutions.

It would be like Tea Party to some nth power.

It will take shoe leather and lots of small meetings, parties, get-togethers, cold calls, etc.

The Repub party has lost its base. The base has gone underground.

First, dump all the support for GOPe.....from national to local. Second, set a local conservative platform that includes less government, no Amnesty, less public spending, less federal involvment, repeal of ObamaCare Show conservative leadership...and conservatives return

Odd how that's still a big mystery, isn't it? Rather academic...unfortunately I have little to no sympathy; republicans can't/won't fix what needs fixing. Hence my cynicism.

Shut down planning and building offices in rural areas. Repeal zoning laws against new, small manufacturing shops in rural areas. Stop accepting federal funding. Stay out of private family matters and end all local social programs that invade and destroy families. Reject all animal worship and environmentalism. That would be a start for Republican committees in every locale that includes a rural area.

Oh...and end all impact fees. Lower property taxes. Respect property rights. Lay off most local government employees. Respect the Fourth Amendment.

Very well said, and I suspect, from experiences and/or much study. Something like this? Have you heard of Vaclav Havel and some of our assistance there in the past?

Adding bray, who has done some great work in Oregon. He has some guidelines, etc. he wrote that I think might help you.

If he doesn’t respond to you on this thread - send him a FReepmail and/or he’s normally on the Sunday Morning Talk Show thread.

Good luck!
