Cruz-Palin 2016: Seeking a Tea Party ticket (Article from 2013)
The Examiner ^ | October 16, 2013 | Dustin Koellhoffer

There are so many good conservatives in and running for office that could take America back from liberal socialists and moderate spend thrifts that it’s hard to know them all without excessive effort. Sens. Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Reps. Paul Ryan, and candidate Elizabeth Cheney are all known names, but somebody has something bad to say about everybody. Romney was equally conservative but allowed his name to be smeared by moderates led by Boehner in Congress who cost him the election by attacking conservatives.

Tea Party members need to stop being churlish when it comes to some of their candidates not being perfectly conservative in their eyes. Rubio helped write and voted for the immigrant bill and then spoke against it. Ryan endorsed moderates but remained staunchly conservative in pursuing a balanced budget. Even Palin supported McCain because he introduced her to the nation.

But there is enough of a battle to be fought against liberals who can vote in primaries in some states and choose the candidate they want to run against. They did this in at several senatorial elections where the Republicans candidate torpedoed their own campaigns...

“Palin won’t be on any ticket if repubs are serious about winning.”

I couldn’t agree more. She is most effective as the free-wheeling pundit that she is now. She’s not viable as a national candidate.

not viable? in what way? is it her stance on the issues? if that is the case, then say it.

or is this a personal attack on her? if so, what are these faults that make her ‘unelectable’

It really tells us where we are as a country when someone like Palin is not a viable candidate, and Mrs. Bill Clinton is at the top of the heap.

I agree. I don’t want a Senator as President. They are horrible....proof is current. A Governor whether it be Palin or Walker would be great. This way Cruz can learn how things are run at the Executive Level.

Exactly.

For some reason, having nothing to do with her past job performance, this country loves itself some Hillary.

We are a long, long way from 1975. This country is far more divided and government-dependent than it was then.

I said she's not viable.. I'd vote for her in a minute, but it's already been imprinted on Americans' brains by the corrupt "media" that she isn't qualified. In politics, perception = reality, like it or not. Palin might dispel some of that if she'd actually sit down for a probing interview, but she avoids them like the plague.

She is so supportive of the troops and of the defense of this country. I can see her shaping things up very well and advocating for an extraordinarily strong military.

Let me flip this back at you. When’s the last time you saw her do the Sunday Morning talk show circuit? Like it or not, you have face the media you don’t like head-on.

She has not yet done that since the interview with Katie Couric.

Scot, I said the same in 2008. She should have sat on one of those Sunday morning panels if she wanted to prove she could hang with the big boys. I like her as the kingmaker/cheerleader.

you yourself have noted the media has continually and purposefully did everything to make her look bad to the masses, what exactly would she gain by speaking to those same folks, as a private citizen, mind you....

hell, even the republican party elite dont like her, what is there to gain?

do you really think they would not do a hatchet job on her again?

my point remains, her policies are sound, so it is obviously personal with the left, and apparently, quite a few here on FR.

Seems like a walking a cadaver to me.

I really placed a lot of faith in Matt Damon.

He is one of the smawtest men I know and been just do correct on so many issues:

.
.

I think there is a really good chance that Sarah Palin could president. And I think that’s a really scary thing because I don’t know anything about her. I don’t think in eight weeks I’m going to know anything about her. I know that she was a mayor of a really, really small town. And she’s governor of Alaska for less than two years. I just don’t understand... I think the pick was made for political purposes but in terms of governance it’s a disaster.

You do the actuary tables and there’s a one out of three chance, if not more, that McCain doesn’t survive his first term and it will be President Palin. And it really...we were talking about it earlier...it’s like a really bad Disney movie. The hockey mom. “I’m just a hockey mom from Alaska.” And she’s the president. And it’s like she’s facing down Vladimir Putin and using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It’s absurd. It’s totally absurd. And I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about how absurd it is. It’s a really terrifying possibility. The fact that we’ve gotten this far and we’re that close to this being a reality is crazy, crazy.

I need to know if she really thinks dinosaurs were here 4000 years ago, that’s an important...I want to know that. I really do. Because she’s going to have the nuclear codes. I want to know if she thinks dinosaurs were here 4000 years ago. Or if she banned books or tried to ban books. We can’t have that.

/S

It's amazing that democrats are scared of a woman like Sarah Palin but think this explosively growing government is a great thing.

government is uncountable at every level as the IRS scandal, the ridiculous government schools, EPA and global warming hoax show.

but democrats aren't scared of the ever expanding ,unaccountable, evil monstrosity called government. no they welcome the explosive growth of government because government is democrats/liberals’ god

Sarah Palin wants to limit government and that's why these democrats(marxist) cry babies fear her and us because we want to destroy their God which is government and their religion which is marxism/socialism

Of course I said the “media” continually went after her, but that doesn’t negate the fact she still has to venture into the belly of beast once in a while. Occasional appearances on Hannity’s show won’t cut it.

Of course, she’s popular in conservative circles, but the electorate reaches way beyond that. She has to win over far more than the GOP base.
