I liked Clovis, but I think Ernst has a better shot.

Don’t you believe it! I think she has very little chance at getting the nomination. Her record of missing votes in the state legislature is not too impressive. She’s not as conservative as at least 2-3 other candidates. She rarely answers questions and has not attended debates/forums. She and Mark Jacobs would be my bottom two choices, at this point. Fiscal conservatives? Perhaps. But, I’m certainly not convinced as to how socially conservative they are. And, in Iowa, like I imagine, a lot of places, social conservatives are getting tired of this dog and pony show of how “pro-life” or “pro-traditional marriage” some of these candidates are, and then once elected, do nothing to oppose, and in some cases, give support to the liberal viewpoint.

Sam Clovis seems to be the one who is giving the clearest, most sound conservative answers to questions posed to him. I’d place Matt Whitaker second. But, as often is the case, money, not principle, is what speaks loudest. With that being the case, my concerns are with Mark Jacobs getting the nomination. I think the best hope of nominating a solid, all around conservative, is if none of the U.S. Senate candidates garners at least 35% of the primary vote. If that is the case, it goes to the convention for a vote of the delegates. Then, all bets are off, and we could possibly get a conservative nominee, yet!

Sadly, I think this one is going to convention. Joni didn’t break out at the IPTV debate last nite. Nor did anyone else really. Don’t see anyone getting 35% at this point.

I am hoping that Joni Ernst gets at least 35% in the primary. Otherwise the GOPe will be in a position to manipulate things at this summer’s GOP convention and arrange for THEIR candidate Mark Jacobs to get the nomination. The last thing we need is yet another establishment “accommodationist” in the Senate. We need fewer RINOs there, not more.

If elected, Joni Ernst will fight to cut wasteful spending, repeal Obamacare, and balance the budget.”

She is the real deal although I get tired of candidates making platitudes that are not possible. I like several of our primary candidates.
